What Specc to play?

Hey Folks!

I am recently thinking about what specc to play and Affli is - for several reasons- not an option.
I tried Demo in HC and it felt fine, but I ever preferred Destro. So far so good.

I kinda daylie Sim myself and the recent Sims are these:

All Sims are full raidbuffed. I like AMR more cause they seem more realistic, but they as the DPS are always different the Speccs were always the same in ranking. Until today. I do know most ppl dont like AMR but I cannot do perfect rotations without movement and without a delay or ping . I am more interested in Real-DPS than patchwork theory

Self-buffed on a dummy I do 10,6k with demo and 9k on Destro. My expected DPS on Demo are fine, Destros are not. Yes I can fix my rotation on Destro, but what to play? I like kinda both Speccs so "play what you like" is kinda difficult .

Do you have any advice which Sim to trust or what to do different to get get better sims?

Azerite Traits are for Destro right now btw.

Blizzard want you to play only affliction. But understanding your -several reasons- (which are probably similar to mine), i would say Destro is an OKish alternative if you're not raiding mythic. It is more appealing / forgiving than Affli as well.

The Demo option is obviously out of the table thanks to "number tweaks" since late beta. It is both unforgiving and un-rewarding while being visually mediocre at best.

I really don't like the idea of using "Patchwerk" with "Full Raid Buffs" to simulate anything.

There is virtually not a single fight where you're completely standing still all the time, so I believe using something like "Light Movement" is much better as it'll allow you for a more realistic simulation.

Using "Full Raid Buffs" is completely meaningless in any M+ and even many PUGs (you simply won't have all the classes in your group to get all those buffs) - and it also assumes that you're always eating the expensive feast and using the (still quite expensive) runes. Change that to reflect the consumables that you will actually be using during the fight.

Also be very careful with the combination of Bloodlust, Demonology and bad PUGs - AFAIK the simulation script assumes that BL will be cast when it'll make sense to use it (and that you will build up your Demonic Tyrant interval around it) not just whenever random PUG Mage presses that button. Properly setting up DT with other strong DPS CDs is quite an important part of playing Demo well - and there's a lot that can go wrong especially when random people in a PUG screw things up.

I've never really tried Destruction because its numbers seemed to be quite low - and regarding Affliction versus Demonology, it pretty much seems like you will need to be able to play both as there are some M+ Dungeons (on certain Affixes) as well as some Heroic Uldir bosses where Demonology is way ahead - but others where Affliction is the only viable option.

Pretty sure you got those flipped. Destro is strong on Vectis and Demo on Zek :P

Also honestly OP if you're just doing heroic it doesn't matter what you play. Also AMR is literal trash. Stick with the simc addon and Raidbots and then just sim upgrades and compare traits/talent setups with their options.

Demo, im in a casual heroic guild I have no problems with demo, the rework since last expac has made it very easy to play, suffers from mobility issues at times but I really enjoy it.
