    Patch 8.1.0 PTR - Build 28151

    Blood Elf Heritage Armor
The Blood Elf Heritage armor was added in the latest build!

Heritage of the Sin'dorei Quest Chain
The quest chain to unlock the Blood Elf Heritage Armor is now available for testing on the 8.1 PTR. You need to be a level 120 Blood Elf and exalted with Silvermoon City in order to initiate the quest.

    • The Pride of the Sin'dorei - The quest starts in front of the Orgrimmar Embassy and has you go talk to Lor'themar in Silvermoon City.
    • Walk Among Ghosts - Lor'themar meets with you in the Ghostlands to start a journey of remembrance for the events of Arthas's March on Quel'danas.
    • Writing on the Wall and The First Fall - You and Lor'themar go to Northern Ghostlands where he recounts the when the gate fell.
    • Lament of the Highborne and The Day Hope Died - Lor'themar has you visit Windrunner Spire and then witness the fall of Sylvanas.
    • Defense of Quel'danas, A People Shattered, and The Setting Sun - You then meet Lady Liadrin on the Isle of Quel'danas and travel to the south side of the island to witness Anastarian fall to Arthas.
    • The Fall of the Sunwell - The finale involves a scenario inside the Sunwell where you escort Prince Kael'thas to the Sunwell and defend him from an undead monstrosity.

I was never going to use the helmet anyway, but for my taste, the shoulders could be ever so slightly less... pompous, i guess. Aside from that, nice. Very blood elfy.

question: Does the actual blood elf char need to be exalted with Silvermoon City, or do you just need a 120 Blood Elf and any char exalted with Silvermoon?

I ask because I have an alliance mage exalted with all faction cities, so wondering if this is going to be enough to get the heritage armor on all my other chars.

I love how the message of this whole questchain is: "You know you are a real asshole if you march onto the peaceful homelands of an Elven Race as an Army of Undead shitlickers. Let's not think about this too much, shall we?"

Your Alliance toon being exalted with Exodar doesn't transfer to a separate Horde toon being exalted with Silvermoon. Your alliance mage is not exalted with Silvermoon. You would have to faction change your Alliance Mage (who is exalted with Exodar) to Horde, and then your Exodar rep would convert to Silvermoon.

yeah sorry my post was a little misleading, I didn't mean Silvermoon specifically, I meant the Alliance factions and if the actual char you want to get your heritage armor on has to be exalted with said faction, or if being exalted with said faction on another char is enough. Shaktard kinda answered my question though.

But that's exactly what's so great about it, being able to relive historic events. You're the first person I hear of seeing this as a negative.

So naturally the horde toons get their heritage armors first. Way to waste time on ridiculous stuff like this while subs are dropping.
Who thinks all these idiotic things up?

Not to be a douche but the Sunwell 70 armor looks much nicer than this.

Cool. Leveling my my DK blood elf next. HEY! This got me back in the game. Just like it is suppose to. smart.

How can the specifically-made-for-bloodelves armor have the absolute worst clipping possible, specifically for every blood elf hairstyle?

    Blood Elves complaining about clipping...

Congratulations. You're now officially a Horde race.

Agreed. I think getting cloth and hair physics working would probably be one of the biggest visual improvements they could make to the game.

Short of that, I don't think there's any way they could implement those styles of cloaks without causing massive clipping issues. I mean, the cloaks we have now already have tons of clipping issues.

Either hide the helmet or pick a hairstyle that compliments it. Frankly there aren't enough facemask style helmets in the game and it's nice having helmets that still allow you to show your hair, which is a rarity.

If you love being covered in giant pixels, maybe.

At least this one has a lot of really nice pieces that you can swap around with other items to create a more approriate modern-looking blood elf transmog. And you can always rock a tabard instead of the chest. The Sunreaver Tabard should match it especially well.
