Fifth Ring Now Available for Battle of Dazar'alor Gear on PTR Adventure Guide
The recent update on the PTR has added the fifth ring of traits to the new raid gear in the adventure journal.

    • The fifth ring has two spec specific trait options to choose between for each spec for your class.
    • The fourth ring continues to have one spec specific trait for each spec or the option of a general trait.

Raid Testing Schedule - November 8th-12th

    BOTH FACTIONS:
Testing is open for both factions. However, for some bosses, raid members will temporarily re-live events as the opposite faction using a story flashback.

    Thursday, November 8th

Jadefire Masters - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
    13:00 PST (16:00 EST, 22:00 CET)
Conclave of the Chosen - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
    14:00 PST (17:00 EST, 23:00 CET)
Horde will experience this boss as if they were Alliance.

    Friday, November 9th

Mekkatorque - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
    13:00 PST (16:00 EST, 22:00 CET)
Alliance will experience this boss as if they were Horde.
Grong - Mythic Battle of Dazar'alor
    14:00 PST (17:00 EST, 23:00 CET)
    Normal Battle of Dazar'alor
    16:00 PST (19:00 EST, 1:00 CET)

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?
A: In Zuldazar, Boralus, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade III in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?
A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players' effective level to 120 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?
A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we're satisfied that we've received that information for a given boss, we'll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.

I'm happy to see the changes to XP requirements for leveling. Up to now I've been becoming convinced that I would never level another toon after this one.

  4. #4
good, raising the xp required was stupid to begin with

LOL, all i see with the fith ring is even more RNG that creates undesirable pieces.

Ah the tried and true Blizzard does something stupid, we all tell them it's stupid, they do it anyway and months later go "yknow maybe this wasn't such a good idea"

The one thing they are actually consistent with.

I'm laughing my ass off for all their wasted PR efforts on this change. Months and months of fielding complaints and assuaging players.

Hoped they'd improve the experience of the leveling process itself instead of just buffing the XP to push you to endgame faster, and get you out of the "drag" leveling has become due to neglecting it for so long. The fact you can buy a boost is a testament from Blizzard themselves that leveling is a non enjoyable, unpolished experience that's worth a significant amount of money to skip, so you can get to the part of the game they want you to be in.

But hey maybe that's not all to it yet, but i've got the feeling it might be so. At least people who like endgame a lot will have a better time now. I'm probably just not the type of player that's being appealed to anymore. Wish they'd prove me wrong.

Actually its less RNG, the fifth ring is bigger so its a choice between 6 traits, 2 for each spec. Which means higher chance to have the one you want. Also fifth and fourth ring can't have same traits so you have 3 chances per item to get a trait you want. Blizzard also re-balanced traits and added some new ones. Also each boss in the raid now drops an azerite item instead of only some.

Anyone know if the xp reduction also comes with reduced xp gained from quests? Although the xp increase a while ago was a bit excessive, this reduction seems a bit excessive as well imo. Although I would be glad if I could go trhough 60-80 much quicker.

  14. #14
THANK YOU. Experience increase was ridiculous to begin with, I can't imagine how much of a grind it was to level characters without heirlooms after the previous change.

It seems like they're just trying to rush us from 60-80 as quick as they can since they know that leveling chunk sucks. The amount of XP it takes to get to 80 on the PTR is what it would have taken to get to 68 on live, so you're spending less than half the time in that range.

My question is about what happens to our current characters. If I have a character sitting half way to 83 (thus having 456,000ish XP), will I log in and they'll be 95? Or will I log in and the amount of XP they have be reduced to match their level?

Since the new added ring is first outer ring it will require same or less heart level to unlock as current outer ring. But I guess you are not able to give any fucks about thinking about something for 5 seconds before complaining needlessly. On par for this site's forums.
