What? Why are they the worst mages of Azeroth?

Metzen and Afrasiabi are actually hardcore paladin fans. Tirion for Metzen, Turalyon for Afrasiabi.

    5.Sargeras
Because: Big evil monster with no backstory, just had a big sword but only used it to attack a place nobody cares about. Also none of his ships are big enough to fit him so how did he reach our planet???

    4.Archimonde
Because: Another very dumb monster with no backstory. Except this time he makes sand castles (rly blizz?) to destroy cities instead of swords. Yet when he fights a tree he loses from some glowing orbs. Why did he not make sand castle of the tree? Bad retcon by blizz, they forgot about his sandcastle powers.

    3.Deathwing
Because: Big dragon which came out of the ground one day for no reason. In cinematic he flew over things and they destroyed so why did he not fly over us? Also in final fight he said "i am cataclysm" yet when we kill him the cataclysm is still here. When will it leave? Dumb retcon by blizz.

    2.Taretha Foxton
Because: Human who likes orcs when they killed all her people. Very dumb horde bias by blizzard, makes no sense. Also created by the evil Christie Golden who ruined WoW starting from cataclysm with death wing.

    1.Arthas (the lich king)
Because: Biggest mistake in all of WoW. First, he kill everyone in stratholme instead of using holy powers to heal them. Next, he goes to northrend and becomes lich king. But then what? He sends some plague to us thinking we are as dumb as him and will kill everyone when they get infected. No we are not that dumb. We heal them and then gather our armies and immediately invade his home while he sits on his throne doing nothing. Eventually when all his zombies are dead and we are knocking on his door he uses his "secret weapon" and kills us, saying it was all according to plan when it really wasn't he just was embarrassed he fucked up so bad. Unfortunately it's even more embarrassing because he forgot we can resurrect so we just kill him anyway. Literally dumbest character blizz has made. Also the retcon by making his armor orange now makes no sense, no idea what blizz is thinking

Of course it is. But your reasoning is kinda strange. For example, I wouldn't say I hate Lothar because in the movie I didn't like the actor, or that Arthas is a bad character because his name is based off king Arthur.

    For comparison, here's my list:
    5. Vol'jin, because when he got the spotlight as warchief, didn't really do anything with it until it was too late. He also died kind of stupidly and is the reason why Sylvanas is in charge.

    4. Turalyon. Not dislike though, just disappointed. I want him to the BIG, not an NPC in a warfront. So far he's been underwhelming.

    3. Sylvanas. Bad character that does Garrosh stuff while seemingly untouchable.

    2. Grom. Hot-headed brute that did nothing but screw everything up. His alternate version is even worse and comes off as cowardly since he just joins the winning side without consequences.

    1. Magatha. She killed off Carine, the only horde leader I respected. Her reasoning is dumb, and everyone is cool with her in-game (or mostly everyone), to the point where she's in the shaman class hall, taunting you, without anyone going for her throat.

I don't get the hate for Maiev. She's one of the best female character imo.

    Alleria Windrunner

    Sylvanas Windrunner

    Vereesa Windrunner

    Arator Windrunner

    Galadin/Giramar Windrunner

The Windrunners are all intolerable fools, yet beside them there are so many more similar to them.

Its this story whiplash i have issues with and wondered what the original intention is. Shes like the fourth most well known Night Elf (after the stormrage love triangle) they must of had a larger goal in mind.
They also claimed in that iirc that she went crazy after BC.

umm....Maiev is an idealistic character that would slay her allies, friends, and even her only family left (Her brother) to achieve her obsession with Illidan and her N-elf supremacy. She doesnt believe in the Alliance, she lies, tortures, and kills for pleasure. She is an extremist that thinks on the same line as Garrosh, anyone not Nightelf is bad.

That's pretty much a villain character, but if that's what you like then yep she is a good character for you.

I don't think I can easily assemble a Top 5 list of most disliked characters, but I can give spots #2 and #1.

    2.) Lucan Foxblood
    1.) Med'an

I'll think on it some more to see if I can't flesh out spots 3-5.

Most, if not all of the WC characters were poorly written. Illidan was trash level writing in WC and people seem to remember him differently and then didn't read quests in BC to act like they were confused about why we were fighting him. Guldan in WC was garbage level writing and WoW fleshed him out a little more until the ridiculous WoD and Legion version that should have been weaker than an escort NPC threw everything through a loop. I mean the guy was being drained for who knows how long to power a portal and somehow pops out and gets right back to it? He had only been a warlock for a few months if that.

Med'an hate is because it is the cool kid thing to do. If you realize the comic he was in was geared to preteens, you'd understand it. That's like complaining about Barney not tackling real life issues like drug use and how he always seemed to be able to solve a problem with singing.

    Well, my most disliked characters...

#5 Matthias Shaw (because of his incompetence)
#4 Genn Greymane (because he is an old man full of hatred, who is responsible for all bad things which had happened to him, but he always blames others)
#3 Vereesa Windrunner (because she is a sellout to humans)
#2 Alleria Windrunner (because she is a sellout to humans and the void)
#1 Jaina Proudmoore (because the true Jaina has died in Theramore and this one is an abomination which shall not live)

That book was so garbage that even the writers forgot about it.

    5. Wrathion - Little dragon who thought he has all the answers then disappears yet again.
    4. Odin - Could he be more of a dick? I think not.
    3. Turalyon - Useless lightforged paladin that has a cool wife.
    2. Thrall - Boring Green Jesus that started the shit but didn't have the heart to see it through.
    1. Sylvanas - Has long overstayed her usefulness and welcome.

I'm sorry, but regardless of demographic Med'an was just a godawful idea in terms of both planning and execution. He is basically the only character in Warcraft canon that I think successfully fills up the oft-misused "Mary Sue" distinction and its BINGO card of tropes and traits.

    - Son of major characters Medivh and Garona.
    - Multi-class, multi-specialist role by dint of "birthright."
    - Earns none of these skills through practice or experience, they are instead bestowed through his unique heredity.
    - Becomes the Guardian.
    - Restores the legendary staff Atiesh.
    - Humble, almost universally beloved, etc. etc.
    - Routinely hobnobs with other major characters on strangely equal footing.

That Blizzard hasn't revisited this character in any way since his debut in the comics seems as strong a condemnation that can be made. His "404" index entry in "Chronicle Vol. 3" is really all the mention he deserves, IMO.

    5. Garrosh - Because “Garrosh did nothing wrong” threads.
    4. Sylvanas - Because she was never supposed to be a part of the Horde and now we have to deal with her being Warchief out of all things. Also “Sylvanas did nothing wrong” threads...
    3. Jaina - Because she is possibly the worst human “leader” and yet she’s constantly waving at everyone from a fan-made pedestal. Every city/nation she leads she eventually turns inside out with poor decisions, blaming everyone but herself afterwards.
    2. Anduin - The main reason why plot doesn’t make any sense these days. A character who is so pure in his deeds and desires that it is unnatural.
    1. Varian - When Alliance whining got loud enough, they were given the ultimate man to shut them up! He’s a human who is stronger then orc, smarter then elf and overall the peak of warrior ability but that’s not all! He’s also a chosen one of the wolf GOD! The bestest best and the greatest great.

    1. Sylvanus she has no business being warchief of the horde
    2. Jaina

Literaly just a Tauren. Nothing even slightly remarkable about his character

    4. Vol'Jin
Literaly just a troll. His strongest moment? Pussying out on his own race in 4.1. That was his big hero moment. He literally just voted no on a council.

    3. Kil'Jaedan
An interesting character reduced to a common foe in 6.2

    2. Sylvanas
A big tiddy goth gf to get Reaper fans to play WoW.

    1. Illidan
    I AM MY SCARS
The same thing as Sylvanas, but for kids that don't get boners yet.

Honorable mentions go to Thrall for being the worst self-insert ever, luckily his story arch was somewhat salvaged in Legion. Hope they don't ressurect him once again in BFA.
And Varian, who was starting to feel extremely stupid until they killed him in Legion. Which is a good idea, sometimes it's best to cut the story short instead of dragging it out too much.
