Is it against the rules to make posts that only serve to bash/mock people with different political opinions than your own? I see it from people on both side of the political spectrum here. The posts some people make are only there to mock people.

It honestly is getting annoying. A lot of the time I will see someone post just to say something like "this is how stupid (x) party is". They just think of the party they hate and attribute what they deem as bad to them. For example, saw a thread just the other day talking about some statistics. Within the first post, it was someone making some political group or a social group and saying they would cry about the statistics.

Its bad and just derails a thread in my books when you simply cannot leave politics or attacks on certain groups out of a discussion that has nothing to do with any of it.

-the same re-occuring 4-5 posters who always appear in all threads, and these posters always cause the threads to become an endless cesspool of this flaming, bashing, etc.

The internet is first and foremost a tool, it's shaped by the people using it as well as how they use it. It very much will always be what you make of it. How and why are always valid questions to examine yours as well as others behavior online - just start with what, when, where and when to collect some data to work with. Unfortunately it appears a lot of people use the internet imagining there's any form of social contact even when they're just roasting people online acting like idiots and expecting/hoping for a choir to back them up and side with them in their hatred and fear. If you're successful at something, somebody will be insecure with themselves and deride you for it. Standing your ground pisses them off and you don't even have to respond to them to have that effect because it's the very thing they're incapable of. Ambition won't help them when it's the principles that are wrong - meaning they're choking themselves and in their denial and confusion end up spreading their heinous beliefs like a contagion with their bullying. So lonely that they act out on social media instead of wising up and fixing their shit while they can before time catches up to them.
