Anyone else came in here expecting the story to be a bait and switch about "how terrible bfa is"?

Yeah, socially impaired people are extremely vulnerable to online scams until they grow some rhino-thick skin. I feel for the kid. Any chance the scammer can be reached? If they're in an eastern bloc country we can probably have their legs broken for a six pack and some adidas sneakers. :P j/k

This made me really sad to read and usually I'm heartless when reading these kind of things.

I don't know. It just got me hard, that really sucks and I'm glad the gofundme is well past its goal. I hope they're able to trust people again and don't carry this with them for the rest of their life.

He has autism, like many people on these boards. It's not his parent's fault that he's unable to comprehend the level of scum that other people can go to.

how the fuck did he have access to so much money in the first place?

thats the root of the issue here, not that someone conned him.

I have to ask ... why did the boy with mental problems had 1400 on his hands to send over?

Also, if he is so incapable, why do the parents give him unsupervised access to buy shit himself?

This is 100% the parents fault. It is unfortunate, but people take advantage of other people all the time. Thats life, take it or leave it.
I just mean, certain types of autism still cause the people with it to act irrationally even if they understand, or even partially understand something, soon as their expectations are ruined they have a very hard time coping, no matter what the situation is.

Then don't let them have free access to a credit card...

Sur the scammer is a douche, but come on don't give money access on the internet to someone who's not able to manage it.

The fact that it's become commonplace and 'normal' for this shit to happen is what kills me. Lets make this shit newsworthy so maybe shit can get done.

He’s 19 he’s an adult you can’t tell him what to do with his money.

Janine heard alarm bells when her son asked her for help in making another payment because his bank had flagged up one of the transactions as suspicious.
