Somehow I don't think he would appreciate being used to score political points like you are attempting. Pretty disgracefully.

    That was the greatest generation.

My grandfather fought in WW2, and he's the man I looked up to most growing up.

First he fought to drive the Italians out when they invaded Greece. Then he fought the Germans with the Greek Army. Then he fought as a partisan against the Germans. And after that he fought against the Communists trying to take over the country after WW2.

Putting both fascists and communists in the ground. He was my hero.

I see no mention of him being an "anti-fascist" - unless we consider all American soldiers who fought in WW2 as antifascists. Clearly this is a sad attempt by the so-called antifa to claim a hero figure as their own.

yes, by definition he was an anti fascist? why is this such a bad phrase to use in 2019? people seem to be offended i called him a technically correct term. If he wasn't an anti fascist he wouldnt of been shooting nazis.

It's not a bad phrase, not at all. But if you're anti-fascists as well, why didn't you take example from this guy and enrolled against ISIS?

You don't have to be anti fascist for following orders and/or wanting to defend your country from invasions.

My guess is that he is one since I'm pretty sure most people are.

The word has gotten some negativity in later years and many are uncomfortable using or be associated with it.

Literally the only people complaining about "anti-fascism" are the fascists who support their fascist leader.

Your moronic post disgraces and dishonors the memory of the soldier just as much as the OP's does, if not moreso.

Yeah you tell yourself that buddy, as if the soldier who just died gave the slightest fuck about your obsession with "14 yo soy boys with pink hair living in CA". Get over yourself.

Dont conflate the men and women who gave their lives to actually bring down a dictator with todays college kids that pretend to be against fascism, which doesnt exist, by rioting.

For all the praise this man deserved, it’s worth noting that a /vast/ majority of his fellow countryman didn’t even want this man to do so. He fought for his country during a time where equal rights laws weren’t a thing, and where the danger he faced wasn’t just from the people who he was trying to stop, but from his fellow American soldiers and commanders.
Regardless of what his beliefs were or what he represented in life is pretty irrelevant when it comes to the man in a political standpoint. But it’ll still be debated, because American’s love their hangups in today’s day and age with their left and right. Not that it hasn’t always been a thing, mind you. But first page in and we’re already at it.

Same could be said about the OP. I highly doubt the man who just died buys into most if any of what the OP believes and would be appalled at being associated in any way with antifa. Frankly, this entire thread is disgusting with either side trying to use him to further their own goals.

Greatest Generation is so because they lined up to enlist after enduring years of the Great Depression, and most believed that they were doing the right thing.
As for this man's politics...they're his business.

Fighting fascists isn't the same as opposing fascism.

If you know service members ask them if they enjoy being compared to people shitting on the sidewalk in NYC while screeching about patriarchy in a leather harness with no other clothes on and rainbow hair. Im sure they dont want the association thank you.
Wait so your family supports humans being better off destroyed? Are you starting a end of the world cult?

Maybe he was anti-aggressor above all and he didn't care what fucking ideology you believed in? Why the label? He was a soldier and he killed people he was told to kill.

I disagree. I didn't watch it, but all three of the soldiers in the static should be holding M1 Garands or Grease Guns instead of all having different types of weapon. Especially not a Thompson. Do you know how expensive those were?
