No...just no. the night sky, when light pollution doesn't destroy it, is the last bastion of beauty and wonder left to us in the world.

Seriously, there's too much light pollution already that nobody in urban areas can see the stars. I think an area lost its power and called the police cause they saw aliens in the night sky but it was the actual milky way. It's out of control.

Oh sure, I can see it all now. The 2030's come around as well as the return of the Leonid Meteor storms. My children are now in their teens.

Me: Hey girls! The Leonid meteor storm is tonight! Are you all excited!

Countries in Europe are shutting down street lighting in places to save on light pollution at night. And this start up believes this will be allowed?

Maybe in major cities, but i doubt it. For other light pollution projects you need quite a bit of approval for such projects, to give an example the green lazerbeam in the sky line, visible in Netherlands limburg Venlo and that's only a temporary project.

I feel like this is one of the few issues where people will rise up together and demand it be stopped. This gives me a little faith in humanity that we wouldn't tolerate shit like this.
