As a massive fan that grew up watching Ghostbusters, must of been 4 or 5 when I first saw it freshly released on home video. I really had a fun afternoon watching the new one.

It's a good movie for the fans and their kids. I enjoyed it, but when I look at it objectively it also has some major issues which would drag down my repeat viewings.

I think if the movie played as The Goonies but in a Ghostbuster's continuum, it would have been genius. It would have dragged in the 80s adults and the Goonies tone would have forgiven that the movie is lead by a bunch of kids. They could have laid off some of the nostalgia beats, and just let the actors be charming and the leads of the movie, instead of all the stuff.

I thought it was absolutely fantastic. I am old enough to have seen the first 2 in the theatre (skipped the godawful 2016 one).

I describe it to friends as Bumblebee meets The Force Awakens with the ending of Rise of Skywalker. I think that's pretty accurate.

Honestly had serious doubts (like a lot of people) that McKenna Grace could carry the movie and carry my interest. But she does really well as does the rest of the cast.

And bring your Kleenex for the end if you haven't seen it yet.

Soooo..... You're doing a really bad job of selling it.

Bumblebee is pretty good. Force Awakens less so, Rise of Skywalker much, much less so.

then it is garbage? cause that is what those movies are.

    ~~

didn't watch yet, but people who i know say it sucks, mostly because super kids doing the job of adults never appeal to him, said it isn't a comedy for people who liked the first movie.

James Acaster? Interesting, he’s a great comedian but I’ve not seen him act yet. Patton Oswald joining also gives me confidence
