When did you start playing Warcraft as an RTS?

Very hard to remember it precisely, but I played WC1/2 at a very young age when my dad bought games that we would both like to play

What are your favorite Warcraft RTS memories?

The very start and the ending of the games, having gone quite a difficult journey (WC3 wasn't as hard as WC1 and 2 though). As for multiplayer it was building up my own guild and meet a lot of new people who I still hang out with to this day

What was the best mission from WC3?

I'm not sure if I have one. Some of my favorites are The Culling, Frostmourne (final human mission), The Fall of Silvermoon, The Hunter of Shadows, A Destiny of Flame and Sorrow (I loved playing as Illidan), The Tomb of Sargeras, Lord of Outland and A Symphony of Frost and Flame

What race did you play in WC3?

Competitively I mostly played orc, who played heavier units compared to the others and required less macro. My second race was undead.

Favorite custom map?

Thats a lot. I liked playing a lot of silly games like Uther's party and mazes like WarCraft Maul. I also played a lot of Castle Fight and Azeroth Wars competitively

Have you purchased WC3R?

Not yet, I don't do pre-purchasing

What are you excited for in WC3R?

To see more life into the multiplayer community and maybe making new maps of my own

Playing a made up Warcraft D&D with friends in middle school, then in high school/college Dota LAN parties

On the rare occasion that I played the actual RTS in multiplayer, night elf

Probably spent the most time on DOTA and the various "hero battle" maps that preceded it, but I always loved the Tower Defense games.

Never pre-ordering a game from Blizzard again.

I'll be interested to see what new custom maps people come up with, and/or replaying some of the old ones I used to love. Not sure if any of my old college friends plan on buying it and playing online, but if so it'd be fun to get a "long distance LAN party" going for old time's sake.

Not sure I have a favorite. The one with Sylvanas where you mind control everything really sticks out in my head for some reason.

I'm excited for the updated cutscenes the most. I like how they are making the main characters more unique. I am interested to see what the generic Blood Mage and Death Knight look like.

Im hoping that this will put some life in the genre again, Sad that the RTS genre died out since I love it so much! Also hoping that blizzard will add mini campaigns into the game like they did with the nova missions in sc2 or even do a Coop commander system? Given how hugely popular it is in sc2.

Also looking forward to modern updates to custom campaigns since the modding comminty for wc3 is still going strong today

I'm really hoping that Reforged makes it. It seems designed to share the RTS slot Warcraft III already occupies, given that owners of the original WC3 will be able to play against Reforged users.

I don't like playing it multiplayer, but on the campaign, I remember being elated when I burned down Lordaeron in Warcraft 2 and King Terenas was so whiny "Guards" and then we killed him. That whole taking over the town was memorable. Basically those old Warcraft 2 cutscenes were so amazing at the time.

What was the best mission from WC3?

I like the three missions were Thrall meets Sen'jin and the Darkspear join. I usually have to save the campaign, then load those three maps, then go back to the campaign, else it makes no sense that the orcs leave the Eastern Kingdoms and suddenly arrive on Kalimdor armed with Darkspear trolls.

God I don't know, I didn't play much but I remember when I was ~10 playing WC1 a bit on my friend's PC; the first one I bought for myself was WC3 in 2002, got into Blizzard ~2000 when everyone on my dorm floor was playing Starcraft and Diablo 2. Almost failed out of college because of them...

I just really loved the story.

What was the best mission from WC3?
NO CLUE! Most memorable was probably the Culling of Stratholme. Knocking down people's houses and slaughtering innocents? What are we becoming? But hey if you're going to do something, do it well!

I could never settle in the multiplayer, really still preferred Starcraft for multi. Favorite was probably the Undead for their flexibility.

I think around 2003, not too long before World of Warcraft came out.

What are your favorite Warcraft RTS memories?
The amazing story being told throughout the game. I remember playing games like Age of Empires, where the story was mostly told between the missions, but the Warcraft story was actually told while playing through the missions. That made it such a great game for me compared to most RTS's of that time and the previous Warcraft games.

What was the best mission from WC3?
I think The Culling is famous for a good reason, as this is where we saw Arthas changing. I was also happy with the one where Sylvanas was turned, and I've always enjoyed Blackrock & Roll, Too, as it felt like a relaxed side-step out of the major storyline.

Never played outside the campaigns.

1) I originally started with Warcraft Orcs and Humans but I was only about 4 years old (So around '96), thus didn't beat it. I later went back in beat it, but my first real passion was Warcraft 2. I played that shit religiously and did the same with WC3.

2) Honestly some of my best memories were fucking around with the map editor, which I still do and still am making maps today. Lore-wise though my favorite was Illidan's first Metamorphosis and being a god in that mission for a brief moment.

3) My personal favorite is a toss-up between the Culling of Stratholme, the Battle at Mt. Hyjal and the simpler Scourge mission where you retrieve the Urn of Arthas' father. The hidden Sasquatches is hilarious and so memorable. I loved the fall theme of it too.

4) On B.net I always choose Random, but if I had to pick a favorite, probably Nelves. Unless you want to include Naga.

5) There was an old Final Fantasy themed map, very mmo-esque, with a blend of FF Tactics elements and other "job upgrade" style things, with a focus on exploring/doing quests and stuff with your party over bnet. I can never find it again, though I remember one small aspect was that one of the jobs had a custom model which was Kimahri from FFX. I wish I could find that map again.

6) Fuck yeah I did.

7) I'm mainly looking forward to the revival in the competitive scene. Even thought about streaming some plays, if I can dust myself off and be meta again. Oh, and also looking forward to Jaina's 4k tits.
