I was quite disappointed by this show overall. I did not expect much going in, and while it's not horrible by any stretch it's trope-laden and predictable and has very little going for it that is genuinely interesting.

It felt like a season of Dirk Gently, without the weird humor. The characters are all pretty boring except for two (Number 5 and Pogo, though the latter is very minor and interesting primarily because of the really very good CGI) and the plot is pretty done-to-death in the genre, really.

This is a show about superpowered people where basically for 8/10 episodes almost nobody ever uses any superpowers (except one person who uses them all the time), and when they do, they're pretty unspectacular.

Also, watching a couple of hours of Ellen Page proving that she cannot, after all, look like anything except someone who just dropped their ice cream cone.

This is unlikely to get a Season 2.

Ellen Page is the Michael Cera of Female Actors. Pretty much my main reason for not watching this show.

Watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The way it ended, I cannot wait for the second season.
Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime?

This show had a lot of not explaining anything moments which lead to it falling apart under scrutiny. Ex: What year is it? How does Luther go to and back from the moon?

The show is also set in a world where people apparently don't give a shit about anything. Ex: 42 Immaculate conceptions on the same day all over the world(which alone is news worthy) then produce super powered children. Governments don't step in to claim or study these children they seemingly "dont give a shit". Five comes back from the future after many years absence on both parties to a complete lukewarm reception. Five doesn't really care about seeing the family he left and the family basically said "O hey" and moved on. The family in general doesn't give a shit about Vania, granted this one is apart of the story , but it makes the list.

Finally the time travel problems without spoiling to much several characters travel through time and there agency isn't explained in the slightest. It just exists for reasons.

Overall I liked the characters and the action is nice, but they didn't flesh out their ideas or didn't know how too. Also the ending was terrible unless you like shows that abruptly end.

I enjoyed it, but I also felt some characters were terribly underutilized... #3 for example. And Temps Aeternalis is reduced to comic relief.

    Ellen Page? No thanks.
They always told me I would miss my family... but I never miss from close range.

I rather enjoyed the show. The music was pretty good as well for the show. There is still a lot of potential and I think the show deserves a second and maybe a third season. Much more than that I don't think it would work. Ellen Page continues to annoy me but she isn't as bad as she has been in recent years so I can't hit the show too hard for casting her.

I really need to try and get back into this again, I watched the first two episodes and was totally bored. I really like some of the actors in this show too.

Maybe if I give it another watch I can slide into it better, maybe I was just not in the mood or something but its the plot structure that made me just groan. The characters all look great too, and they seem to be great in their roles, everything points to me loving this but for some reason I don;t... it;'s like a zen riddle I just don't understand lol.

Maybe I'll come back to it at a later date or something. I really wanna be in the right mind set for this show.

They starred in that one movie together, didn't they? Proof that they spawned from the same pool.

EDIT: Juno! That's the one. I think it was their first movie, wasn't it?

Wasn't Page's first movie afaik. She was in Hard Candy at least before that.

It's a good movie, probably her best.

The whole superhero genre is so saturated, I think I'm just tired of it. Plus the whole modern Marvel formula of introducing "the crew" paired to nostalgia music is irritating. Passed on Polar for the same reason and couldn't make it 10 minutes into either. It's so desperate and unoriginal at this point, completely played out.

I'm just hoping it's a temporary fad that will die out in the next couple years.

I enjoyed the comics of this much more then I did the show.
The way they changed Diego actually made me mad, in the comics he was more of a Batman type character. Then the emotional flirt we had here(hell he didn’t treat mom like a sentient being)
Senace didn’t abuse drugs till the third season in comics but he never ran from his abilities.

I do think that out of the entire cast Ellen Page is the worst actress.

Her broody, I'm-a-sad-gurl routine is gettin' real old at this point. But then again, isn't that what Vanya is, after what she has gone through (rejection by her "dad")?

I've only seen 2 episodes so far and it is already better than Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Punisher.

#5 is my favorite, what a character.
