Patch 8.1.5 PTR - Zandalari Troll Shrines, Darkmoon Faire Roller Coaster, DLC #668

Patch 8.1.5 PTR - Zandalari Troll Embrace of the Loa Shrines
The Zandalari Troll racial ability Embrace of the Loa now requires your Zandalari troll to use the ability in front of one of the Zandalari loa shrines around Dazar'alor. This grants you the buff of the loa and will remain until you replace it with another loa shrine. This activates a 5 day cooldown during which you cannot change the buff. You can talk to guards in Dazar'alor to get the specific shrine marked on the map.

    • Embrace of the Loa
      • Embrace of Krag'wa - (Top left shrine on map) Taking damage has a chance to grant you [ Greater of {300% of Spell Power} or {300% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] additional Health and [ Greater of {50% of Spell Power} or {50% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] Armor.
      • Embrace of Kimbul - (Top right shrine on map) Your damaging abilities have a chance to cause the target to bleed for [ Greater of {66% of Spell Power} or {66% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} * 3 ] over 6 sec. This effect stacks up to 3 times.
      • Embrace of Bwonsamdi - (lower left shrine on map) Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal [ Greater of {66% of Spell Power} or {66% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ] Shadow damage and heal you for 100% of the damage done.
      • Embrace of Paku - (Bottom left shrine on map) Your abilities have a chance to grant you 5% critical strike for 0 sec.
      • Embrace of Gonk - (Bottom right shrine on map) Increase movement speed by 5%.
      • Embrace of Akunda - (lower right shrine on map) Your healing abilities have a chance to heal their target for [ Greater of {50% of Spell Power} or {50% of Attack Power * pctD * (1 + 0)} ].

Patch 8.1.5 PTR - Darkmoon Faire Roller Coaster
The Darkmoon Faire Roller Coaster functions much like the carousel, giving you the WHEE! buff after riding it. It costs one Darkmoon Ride Ticket.

I've always loved how some spells are insanely detailed, and then you have those "Your damaging abilities have a chance to", thus you have no clue about the viability of Kimbul vs Bwonsamdi. Could be a 2% vs 95%. or both 50%. Thus, you have to trust bloodmallet.

I quite like that Loa buff actually. The fact you can only change it once every 5 days gives it a sense of commitment, and it's pretty cool it stays with you too if you didn't want to change it either.

Regeneratin' was also changed last build to a 6 second channel. https://ptr.wowdb.com/spells/291944-regeneratin

100% heal value and 90 sec cd remains unchanged

Yikes. 5 day cooldown and you have to go to Zandalar to change it.

Do you visit Zandalar less than every 5th day?

It's ironic because that's literally what you are doing right now. It's plain and simple timegating at this point if you have all the requirements met.

Hope you weren't planning on playing more than one spec on your rerolled Zandalari Paladin RIP

Nope, I'm Ret 4 life. And the crit buff is the best option. The dot may come in handy if i wanted that...

I really like the way this is implemented, but I still reserve the right to be upset about the fact that choosing the Embrace of the Thunder Lizard Loa is crap for my elemental shaman.

Next expansion..? Gonna be nice to have a racial that requires you to go to the previous expansion to get any use out of it.

Remember when races came with the expansion purchase and were there to create from day 1 and not timegated?

    What's next "Allied Classes"?

I don't like the changes to the race bonus of Zandalari, that you have to go to a statue of the loa is neat, but if you want to switch so you can compensate something or simply need a healer now and the other things just don't benefit you as a healer, you can't do anything about that. Same goes for arena, you can't choose the embrace that would suit the enemy team you are going to fight.

Which brings me to the point, that since there is a 5 day CD now on it, you are kinda forced, that you benefit from said embrace at least nearly the same way on the other spec you want to play.

Bwomsamdi is litteraly 100% the Forsaken Racial: Touch of the Grave

Many of the proccs seem severely low, P'aku's 4% critbuff procc, is very underwhelming contrasted to like the Void-Elves racial that has a more predictable mannerism.

But this kinda makes it almost useless. You can't switch based on the content you're doing, so everyones just gonna choose which ever one is best for their spec and leave it. Rather than going "old content farm. 5% movespeed" "wq time. lets go with the healing loa".
If what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Then I should be a god by now.

that's a pretty cool feature to choose your buff! I like it!

It's a little vexing that new races have completely better (and more) racials than the vanilla races. I guess they have to make them that way so people will cough up the money to race change though.
