Ignoring everything else that's stupid about this "idea" (which is something that's usually posted on fresh accounts), two things come to mind:
    1. Who, amongst people who have/are close to 4 digit raider.io score, even does heroic five man dungeons?
    2. Who needs helps with heroic five man dungeons? How does anyone benefit from dragging overgeared and bored players into such content? The only "community" this would build would be the "community of people dropping the game for good because Ion finally lost the rest of his mind".

I mean, at very least this should have been "LFR". Except the thing is gated, so it wouldn't work anyway. What a shame, such a wonderful idea will not come to pass.

Lol, enforced carrying of average players because... reasons

Run M+ and raids all you want. HOWEVER, in order for your toon to qualify for m+ / raid drops for the week:

    1. they MUST soloqueue and complete something like 5x pug heroic dungeons in dungeon finder during the previous week.
    2. if the ilvl of the group exceeds a maximum, that pug heroic does not count towards the 5.
    3. Cheaters are told in advance that if caught, their cap goes to 10 for the rest of the expansion. Don't even THINK about creative use of game mechanics to get around this. If you think you're gonna do it at the end of the xpac, it'll extend to the next one too.

I think this would be a START to see if we can get people to help others more. If it fails, more extreme measures will be taken.

Pretty simple. Help people. Contribute to the community. Or no gear.

Why do this? because people insist upon using that cancer raider.io, which just excludes helping low ilvl players. We need a fix to raider.io, so this is it.
When did WoW start becoming a socialist game?

  4. #24
How about instead of punishing people for not helping you would reward them for doing so?

raider.io is one of the best thing to happen in mythic+ if you're competitive.. you see that as a filter for bad people, I see it as a high score and I'm trying to improve mine.. I don't see why removing this would benefit anyone.. why don't you remove the pvp ranking then? It's the same thing.

I'd rather reward teaching communities instead of trying to destroy competitive communities.

Maybe this would finally get rid of the carry spam..

I retrived an account that I havent used in over 11 years, just to be able to reply to how absurdly incompetent this OP is.

The reason why casuals and beginners feel excluded, is because of how anti social and jaw-droppingly easy the game has become at an entry level, changes blizzard made exactly to cater to this audience.

You dont need any proficiency at playing your character to progress your character anymore, nor do you need to work with or rely upon other people, even up to the level of heroic raiding, you can simply just apply in the group finder, join & leave, rince & repeat, with out any regard or respect for your fellow players.

This means that the average player can progress to mythic level raiding, with out ever having to practice working together or be dependable to other people.

This is why mythic plus is a whole different bag of worms, because the level of communication and profficiency at your character is higher then the rewards given, compared to other avenues of the game.

Compare this to oldschool world of warcraft, where even the first dungeon, DEADMINES required you to talk more with your fellow party members, then current heroic raiding content.

The old game was never about having old players teaching new players how to play, but we tought each other, by being forced to work together.

You're litteraly dumb enough to ask for more of the same, "I have not been forced to learn how to play, because i asked for everything for free and I think the best sollution for this problem is to FORCE other players to give me MORE FREE stuff". Holy shit this is new levels of retardation.

  6. #26
Funny how these "new" players never find each other. They always try to join those high-end groups(probably to get carried cause lazy as fuck).

  7. #27
I propose the opposite, I want players to have to do 5 M+ dungeons before they can queue for my heroics instead. Why? Because apparently posting fucking stupid ideas is the thing to do now.

That being said, just no. Like, fucking no. The ilvl of a group exceeding a certain point makes it not count? How fucking absurd do you want this to get? Now I have to not only solo queue, but hope I get grouped with some fresh 120 and not a bunch of geared players at the same time?

  8. #28
No. The game is fine. If you really think this is a solution then you should quit wow and play a solo player game or even maybe try diablo.

if you want to push a stupid idea like this, at least try to word it so it's not a punishment, e.g. " for each random heroic you get 1 M+ start coin" instead of " do this or else!!"

other then that, this would just result in stuff like people kicking low ilvl people from random heroics to be done faster.

and it wouldn't even achieve it's primary goal, like at least apply this idea to m0 dungeons or w/e since random heroic gives worse gear than WQs.

  13. #33
So let me guess this right, as somone who has boosted there IO to 1500 by running countless dungeons at low lvls to be able to move up the ratings, i should be forced to run content that i have no use for, to help someone who cant be bothered putting in the same effort i did??.

There are dozen of keys ranging from 1-9 in LFG at all times which barely ask for any rating, So suck it up princess and the hard yards like the rest of us instead of begging to get carried.

This sounds awful. I would literally quit if I had to run 5 shitty heroic groups every week with random people who said nothing the entire run just to get rewards from content I want. More or less the only reason I still play this game is playing it with friends, forcing me away from that is an awful, awful idea. How does this fix raider IO? The people who can't push their score high enough either because they're bad or don't want to, still won't be able to. It just wastes my time and doesn't really help them. What are 5 heroic runs where I as the tank basically solo most of the dungeon due to gear going to do for me or anyone?

It really just sounds like you're salty about Raider.io "blocking" you from groups because you expect to jump into 10+ groups without having any proof you can do it. Raider.io is only a problem for people who don't seem to want to put in a little effort, is it really that bad that you have to start at 2-4 and work up? It'd take all of what, a week or two? I played a warrior, and I could get into groups as DPS or a tank (This was season 1, when warrior tanks were uhhh, not good) for 2-4s no problem, but I never cared to go higher. I was like, 355? I didn't even do normal raids. And I'm on Alliance, so fewer groups in general. Maybe that makes a difference, the Horde is mostly wanna be hardcore people who pretend like they're cutting edge top 20 guilds, one reason I don't play there.

Raider.IO is a great tool if you are willing to put in a little effort and run some easy low level keys to start building a score. It sounds like you've never used it personally to put together a run, and experienced the difference it makes. In Legion I did pugs up to +12 (I had +15 cleared season 1 with my guild) and for so long I just invited based on ilvl. So many lost runs. So much wasted time. So much frustration. Raider.io has eliminated all of this, I know everyone I've invited is at least somewhat competent and my runs started going so much smoother.

Maybe, I dunno, try to start 'Score building groups" with the intent of finding people with lvl 2-3 keys that are willing to stick together and run them. 5 people with a few level 2-3 keys and an afternoon could get you a decent start, if it's a solid group you could probably run multiple level 4-5s by the end, then maybe meet up to continue another night. And maybe you'd make some friends after that many runs together.

Don't get me wrong, I like the uhhh, intent? I guess. MMOs should be social, but these games are huge, and communities always form and should, playing with the same people and making friends is fun, but not if it's forced, being forced to do anything makes it shitty, and no one talks in random heroics, so there's almost no chance of making friends anyways.

OP, you not entitled to anything in this game. Including boost by more advanced players.

I don't think helping out others is the key to MMOs, being part of a community is. And I'm telling this to you as a person who doesn't use raider.io.

In real life, you interact with your family, people at school / work and other friends you met in your circle of interest. So in general, the people around you have more or less the same education, the same culture, the same understanding and common interests. This works.
WoW is a big pool where people come from all around the world and their personalities, age, education vary wildly. This means there's a high chance to meet a lot of people who aren't compatible with you or downright rub you the wrong way. How do you avoid this? By forming communities with like-minded people. This is normal. And required to function properly and enjoy the game as a game.
There is no obligation on my part to help others, that is a choice I can make. This isn't charity, isn't work, this is a hobby - point of it is to have fun, enjoy it. Whether you can make friends or find something fitting is up to every individual person.

I thought the wannabe hardcores were always being "forced" to do things they don't want to in order to obtain some minor advantage. Remember the rage in Legion of being "forced" to run all difficulties of old raids to build up BLP or get more AP or try for a titanforged good old trinket?

  18. #38
so, when you are forming a group, you don't pick people. you just invite the first 4 other people that apply first, regardless of their achivements or skillset. and if you fail, it is ok with you.

As people have a right to play like this and have fun, there are other people who might want to form their group differently.

You either have no choice (= random dungeons) or have a choice and it is for other group leader's choice, it is not your's when you try to join someone else's group.

You can't dictate how ppl want to form their group, you can only dictate how you group will be formed.

  19. #39
So now to raid people are required to Sherpa strangers they will never see again through content they don't want or need to do? No thanks. Blaming people for wanting to set themselves up for success also has nothing to do with raider.io.
"Privilege is invisible to those who have it."

Yes. Forcing people to begrudgingly do content that's completely irrelevant to them will make WoW so much more pleasant for everyone. I can't wait to log in on a Tuesday and be forced to do 5 boring ass heroic runs (most likely in a guild group thereby helping literally no one) just so I can raid. This will surely make WoW a better game.
