[Speculation] next expansion or 8.3 will have "Storm" in its title

    Argument 1.
Since WoD, Blizzard has used the current expansion's log in theme to foreshadow the next expansion:

WoD - "A Siege of Worlds" - Legion was all about the siege of Azeroth and later the siege of Argus. WoD had the siege of Draenor but it was just one world as opposed to several worlds (especially if you count all the extra planets you went to throughout Legion).

Legion - "Kingdoms will Burn" - Teldrassil was literally burned to a crisp. Another kingdom (Lordaeron) was destroyed and several other kingdoms faced events that brought them to the brink of annihilation. Legion didn't actually have any kingdoms burning.

BfA - "Before the Storm" - hmm...

    Argument 2.
BfA was potentially titled "Before the Storm" during internal development. Cataclysm was known internally as "Worldbreaker" before the title was shifted to a TCG expansion. "Before the Storm" was shifted to the prequel novel, which was originally called "Lightning Crashes". If BfA is "Before the Storm", then the next expansion is "the Storm".

    Argument 3.
There are heavy allusions to a storm coming in BfA. In 8.1.5 you have to stop the Naga from collecting relics which hold the power to summon a catastrophic storm. 8.2 can't be the aforementioned storm because it is not the climax of the expansion.

My guess is that N'Zoth and Ny'alotha will rise in 8.3 and cause a planetary storm that will radically reshape Azeroth. The next expansion will be another world revamp Cata-style.

    8.3 Storm of Storms.

Edit: Stormy Storm of Storms. Now with even more storm.

Sure why not, blizz seems to be really fond of that word.

I am still wondering how much blizzard will throw filler expansion until the light vs the void or maybe they wanted to make the thing more spicy and they are taking the elements from the Warp in the Warhammer universe and we are gonna face others "lords" from the cosmic forces, death and life are getting some development on that currently.

This "theory" is very far-fetched, especially since Warlords of Draenor literally started with the invasion of Azeroth, which then led into the siege of Draenor.

What will happen, and you mentioned right at the end of your post, is that N'zoth and the Black Empire will rise once more from the abyss, literally. That which was sunken shall rise again and those who were dreaming shall be awakened. This will lead into an actual Old God expansion, unlike this stupid, semi-faction war, mess of an expansion that should have just been about N'zoth and Azshara from the beginning.

But certainly Blizzard recognizes that N'zoth deserves his own expansion as the most charismatic and dangerous villain left, and shouldn't be thrown away in patch 8.3 along with the rest of the Black Empire storyline... at least I hope they do.

Siege (Collins Dictionary) a persistent attempt to gain something.

How the fuck are the events of Legion not a siege? Speculation: you come into threads with the sole purpose of stirring shit up.

A siege, in military context, is a waiting game, not a raid.

    https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/siege

2a : a military blockade of a city or fortified place to compel it to surrender
And just for curiosity, I checked Collins: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/di.../english/siege

    1. countable noun [oft under N]
A siege is a military or police operation in which soldiers or police surround a place in order to force the people there to come out or give up control of the place.

To be fair to Blizzard, an actual siege of Orgrimmar where the Alliance and rebels stay camped outside until Garrosh and Company are forced to eat bits of sha for sustenance and all the troops die of boredom would not be especially engaging. "Storming of Orgrimmar" might also confuse who they think they're writing for. If they think their audience can't grasp that genocide is bad without an expansion's worth of preening, the subtleties of the english language are well beyond their projected view of the playerbase.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.

Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.

Well obviously, still doesn't make it a siege and it's a bit annoying to have professional writers make such an elementary mistake for the setting.
