Blizzard is not acting like BFA is failing

Is it just me or is Blizzard just acting like everything is fine?

Outside of Classic forum communication is non existent, only info we have is directly from Ion with vague promises, 8.2 PTR is not up for a MAJORRRR game changing patch, Lore has been dead silent except insulting people on the forums, devs have been afraid to communicate bugs when reported/confirm them.

The list just keeps going. Every single thing I see Ion listing out was reported far prior to BFA even launching but how many had to quit and get fired before he decided to put his hubris aside and admit something is broken?

Nowhere in his interviews is he addressing the casino that is BFA right now and if anything has embraced it even further in dev Q&A's which are few and far between. Where in the hell are the class devs? People are beyond pissed right now about class design and the pruning but there is nothing. Who in the hell looks at prot warriors in MDI right now and does not thing that is just broken and crowding out other tanks that need buffs?

Guilds have been turned into glorified raid log communities as people are just disillusioned at what is going on right now. Where is the 8.2 hype on the PTR? Atleast then you could get people motivated to stay with the game and not just give up.

BfA does not need a "MAJORRRR" gamechanging patch though. It needs some (big, in some cases) changes to systems in order to be salvaged.

That said, how stupid do you have to believe that they'd openly say that BfA is failing under any circumstances? That any company would? That'd be like telling the players who remain that they shouldn't be playing until the issues are fixed.

Every interview they give they talk about what they did wrong, with azerite, expeditions, pruning, etc. and what they learned. What do you want? Obviously they aren’t going to say ‘BFA failed’, a) because it’s not true and b) because you don’t say that about your own product. You learn and improve.

I think if activision layed off some key figures. It would motivate them more to fix things. CS reps isn't really gonna cause that, but say laying off Lore, some devs, and narrative team members. Would prompt faster changes then current. Like most, you gotta accept that Ion really doesn't care about the game. But watch as they probably introduce two more parts of pathfinder. One for the naga zone and one for Mechagon. Wouldn't surprise me if they have it already planned.

What is with this obsession with wanting the WoW devs to grovel for forgiveness?

No company will say their product is a fail.

WoD was just dead on arrival with systems that didn't really give you much options to add actual content. WoD is just underperforming in terms of endlevel quests and azerite is being salvaged by returning to a feature they already had completed last xpac.

So both xpacs failed in their own way with WoD being unfixable for the most part.

Because Ion is too arrogant to admit that BFA is bad or might have issues.

I mean he can't even admit that there are games out there that might do certain things better than WoW so good luck getting him to actually tell the truth on anything.

If you listen to them, they are admitting it constantly, but they don't want people to completely give up. I am just waiting to see what the PTR is like and how people receive the new content before I come back.

Because the smug satisfaction of being right on the internet is just too good of a feeling.

They defended their Twitter/Selfie Cam patch, so you'll never hear them apologize for a thing. And as far as "no company will ever say their product failed", Final Fantasy absolutely did, and it went a long way to building trust and confidence in their revamp.

They were all non essential though, and almost all the major developer companies cleared house this year. If it means better games then it was a great move.

They actually did low-key apologize for 6.1 well after it was over and done with. They did the same with WoD. They'll do the same with BFA once it's over too.
Still wondering why I play this game.
I'm a Rogue and I also made a spreadsheet for the Order Hall that is updated for BfA.

    Because it isn't really failing.

If they were in alert mode, things like removing portals would have never happened. And as we all know, this is a business, not your amusement park... so they will act accordingly.

Put it this way. FF14 was so bad originally it was shut down and an official apology was given.

The current team have the passion with the new game and it's showing... unlike ActiBlizz. They literally worked tooth and nail to get A Realm Reborn ready and you could see it at the launch event with Yoshi in tears partly because of them and sadly of the initial server congestion issues with ARR. (They didn't expect that many to come back and trust them)

Hell the current Director is a huge MMO fan and actively admits that the design for FF14 was inspired by other games. Hell he even understands how burnout works and tells people if they feel burnt out from the game to take a break and try other games because Final Fantasy 14 is not the only game out there among other great ones.

Meanwhile Ion is like "nah take this timegated/RNG bs and enjoy being behind if you dare take a break by the time we release the next part".

If you listen to the actual entire interview, they never once mention anything they did wrong, just things they might like to try cause the things they did do weren't 100% excellent, only 90% excellent.

Whether you love it or hate it, BFA met or exceeded all their expectations from initial sales to performance up to the last sales call. So it's not failing.

Then go to FF14 and stop saying non sense. I've tried FF14 ARR and the first expansion and quit after some months, combat is slow as hell and clunky.... The PS4/Gamepad limitations are just awful and hurt the game

Ya, I think they know across the board that game development was suffering on all their franchises.
