It's kind of scary how many people on this forum try and hide their bigotry and racism toward while being so overt in calling for a genocide based on gas-lighting and scare tactics that have been feed to them.
My apologies, I got you confused with another poster who has no avatar and the 10 year member title.

It's obvious you have no real world experience around them. Fantasy land doesnt play out in the real world like it does in your head.

the problem is that they tried arresting.

as far as i'm concerned, a gang is a hostile entity that can be compared to a terrorist organization. strip them of their citizenship, and take no prisoners.

i'm against the death penalty, but sometimes hard decisions must be made. this is a greater good moment.

Actually, you can just drive to another state nearby and legally get a firearm, then bring it back to Chicago...

Decriminalization of drugs is silly. May as well just say we need to decriminilize murder in Chicago too since it is so popular. Even if drugs were not criminal, the gangs would still be fighting over drug markets. BUT at least people could still kill themselves slowly with drugs... so that I can pay for universal healthcare for them.

Ahh, Ok. I forgot about that one. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

something should be done about what causes gangs to form. a shame that is a much more complicated and far reaching solution to the dim witted and lazy "lol we should kill all the gang bangers!" idea most people on here delude themselves into thinking will work.

How would a law control guns from criminals when they get them illegally in the first place.

Wouldn’t we see more “a gun store has been robbed” or “the great gun heist on a peterbuilt” headlines if they were stolen? These guns must be imported from somewhere. I’m not denying that some gun owners lose their guns and whatnot but damn 1600+ is a bit much ain’t it.

It be better to find the source of these illegal guns rather than making the already harsh gun laws more severe. Btw I don’t own a gun and don’t plan too.

That's why I mention "ghost guns" and "3d printed guns"...both of which can be made at home.
Of course, home-made guns were always a thing...

it would be easier to deal with gang problems if they stopped trying to blame gang violence on guns, gangs are going to still kill people, with or without guns.

It's curious how demagogues always conveniently focus on Chicago, and not the 9 other cities in the country with higher murder rates. Curious indeed.

That is the case in a lot of large cities with high crime rates. Certainly is the case here with Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati. I lived in Cleveland, in a high poverty, crime rate section of the city as a teenager. Thankfully I could outrun any of the punk gangsters there. Gun related deaths then did not seem to be a thing. But it did happen. Knives was the go to choice of weapons then from my memories.

Armchair politicians know nothing of Chicago Politics contributing to this shit. Know nothing of "mixed income housing" plan, know nothing of hospitals refusing to treat gunshot victims, know nothing of the over 200 public school closings (students effected 90% black or latino), and you talk about guns like those laws matter......
