There was mini-documentary on the rising "Deaths of Despair" in America that touched on this issue:
If you're unable to find someone to have sex with, it's time for some serious introspection. It's your own fault if you can't.

I've got two children that have yet to reach middle school, and when I go to the school for the variety of reasons I'm required and see their peers, stories and statistics like these don't surprise me. Most of these kids are glued to cell phones, have little to no communication skills because of that, and are exposed and desensitized to awful things at too young an age. My 9 year old's classmate used a permanent marker, drew a set of cock and balls and wrote "pornhub" on their whiteboard. Is that really what we want? To raise a generation of internet trolls? Parents need to take a long look in the mirror and stop failing their children.

Not having sex isn't a reason for higher suicide rates, lack of companionship and meaningful connections with other people is.

The Handmaid's Tale + The Purge inc.

Seems more plausible than USA turning things around, adopting Socialist Capitalism and making meaningful changes to ensure young people have hopes for the future. Not to mention the fact that kids grow up and interact via screens more than IRL these days, fostering more and more socially inept individuals.

If a lack of sex is a reason for wanting to end your life though, I'm not sure what can be done... The dopamine fix you get from sex can be achieved otherwise, why this obsession with the nasties rather than doubling down on hope, meaningful human connections (which don't have to involve sex) and stability?

"Needs more spirituality" yeah right, because Happiest Countries lists aren't constantly topped by secular nations or anything...

    How very odd...
It would seem that one simply can't make Classic sound good, without first attempting to make Retail sound bad.

I could find sex fine on Grindr... but then gay guys just tend to look at body more than personality on those apps... or just generally... :P

But for the incels it seems that society is not teaching them life skills that can be used to find a mate, or advice better than "be yourself!" when they don't have well developed personalities, or maybe on the spectrum.

Incels? You mean those who act all entitled and think it's their right to have sex with women and that women shouldn't be able to say no to them? That's not about lacking life skills, that's about them being raging misogynists.

I never said it was harder. I said they face more pressure. They have all kinds of outside forces pressuring them to do certain things or to be a certain way when they may not be interested in those things. Speaking first hand, my kids feel a greater sense of accomplishment when they do manual work. Hand to god, my little girl asked me if she could pick up dog poop the other day.

I think the problem today is that there's a sense of a lack of a future.

I would call that lacking life skills, yes... because that manifestation of it is relatively new, and came about around the same time as social media itself.

Being a misogynist asshole isn't lacking life skills, it's being a misogynist asshole.

Depends on how you frame it...

If your task in nature is to spread your genes, being hateful to the thing that will let you do that is lacking life skills.

Even the misogynists of yore were not that clueless.

physically kids have it easier than ever, mentally social media and society's constant pressure is far worse, as you say a lack of community and communication is the problem, im talking face to face not staring at a phone screen 5 hours a day.

Also 70 years ago 1 minimum wage job was enough to buy a house and raise children, now if they grow up and have a minimum wage job their life is shit with no hope of owning a house or getting anywhere in life.

We need to take a look at what is causing these kids to see this as a real danger. A car accident is a much much much more likely cause of death. Why aren't more people terrified of cars?

Incel essentially means that you're unable to find a (sex)partner, it stands for involuntary celibacy after all.

Sometimes that goes in hand with misogyny but it's not exclusive, just not being an asshole isn't always enough to get the other sex to like you.

Why do you think the African American community doesn't have the same problem?

Presumably because driving a vehicle comes with at least an illusion of control over things.

This is true as well... some of them are/maybe misogynist, some of them are just socially clueless, awkward, or (unfortunately) lost the genetic lottery and are... uh... asymmetrical...

Yes, it is. Unless you think you're going to get with the really popular and pretty women when you're not particularly handsome. In that case, you have too high standards and you're still to blame for your own situation.
