    Blizzard invalidating content once again

Crucible of Storms releasing, time to increase emissary rewards to 395/400.

Raid Finder (and Mythic) difficulty for Crucible of Storms will open next week, April 23. Similar to Battle of Dazar’alor, you will need an average item level of 350 to queue for it. To help ensure players get raid ready, we are increasing the maximum item level for certain World Quests rewards. This will include the following:
World Quest rewards will go up to ilvl 370 (from 360)
Emissary equipment will go up to ilvl 395 (from 385)
Emissary Azerite Armor will go up to ilvl 400 (from 385)

Against Overwhelming Odds (when available) will go up to ilvl 395 (from 385)

So Blizzard is saying that the majority of players doesn't raid mythic, which means they are either entirely or mostly invalidating everything the majority did for the past 3 months.

This pretty much means: 1 week 3 months after raid release = 3 months of progressing multiple hours a week

Why would any sane person choose to actually raid and invest that much more time when they can get the same rewards 3 months later without any effort by doing trivial content?

If you spend 13 weeks "progressing" to 400 ilvl, yes, you should just sit back and wait for welfare instead.

I find it worse that they don't increase m+ itemlevel (maybe with a slight difficulty change). Well, there must be some initiative for raiding I guess.

Well, if you raided mythic, you did that to have a 10-15 ilvl advantage over people who are now getting their welfare items.

According to Blizzard 30 ilvl difference are a significant increase in Power and 15 not being enough, which means people are spending around 12 hours of pure raiding time (+ the time it takes to farm gold/consumables for mythic raiding), only to have an insignificant advantage over those who barely play the game.

That is for sure great game design.

I'll never understand this whiny argument. So after this change, the scrubs will have a 390-400 ilvl, and the elites will have a 410-420 ilvl.

This has always been the disparity between the scrubs and the elite since at least Wrath.

For me it’s not quite about the disparity but about how this disparity comes about. Why are emissaries offering the same ilvl heroic BOD offers? We never had that in the past. I don’t mind having more gear sources but they shouldn’t be boosted to equal raid ilvl at any point until that raid is over. It’s over for me, I cleared mythic a little while ago but people are still progressing heroic/mythic at their own pace.

Blizzard has already stated they plan on reducing gear sources though along with wanting to remove/fix TF so it seems they believe it’s an issue as well.

Many bad players are already at 400-410. It won't take much longer for them to be 410-420.

Because not every emissary offers gear and they took away the board missions giving raid gear? Sounds like it evens out to me.

I don't see how it's possible for scrubs to hit 410-420 in current content. So I call BS. But it's also hard to call total BS, since the abomination of Titanforging and Warforging are in the game.

    So truce.

"Scrubs" will have something like 400-410.

You seem to not get what this changes means. You can now get items equal in quality to the ones you get in the second highest difficulty by only doing trivial content. At this point you don't even need a keyboard and can play with a steering wheel attached to your toaster and get the same rewards that people get who are actually trying.

If people don't have to try, they won't and they will eventually quit. The devs should try to make me want to play as much as possible, not making in easy for me to skip everything and play as little as possible.

    Pretty much this.

At some point you should pause, reflect on yourself, and play for fun instead of garbage ilvl chase...

Not even sure why normal needs to exist at this point.

I don't care about other player getting fast gear. I already had fun getting my gear.

I think it's ridiculous how easy it is to get gear. That said, why do people care if people doing WQs and Warfronts have a similar ilvl to raiding? They put their time and effort into what they think is "fun" just like raiders do. Those people are not going to step on people's raiding fun because they don't have the skill and/or time to do so.

It's not a problem, same would apply to any expansion - "Why would you spend countless hours progressing through raids when gear at the end of expansion becomes trash". The problem is that there's literally no rewards for tackling toughest content. Everything beyond "heroic" in the game can be acquired a little bit later (except for one feat of str achiev or 2 now...boo hoo). All the appearances become readily available for alts and shit right after new raid tier releases (including now incomming essences). Mounts that drop from final bosses (and if they do) and pets for once can be bought, secondly become farmable soon after the tier ends. For fucks sake even gear from Mythic raids can not titanforge! That's ridiculous system. At the end of a tier M becomes so easy with all the inflating gear and nerfs I could just not play the game, log in once every 3 months and get the CE achiev being boosted by friends, if only CE was the thing I'm after. This game is pretty sad.

Becouse when people see they can get same rewards doing trivial content they quit doing harder content = they quit. They stop being invested in guilds = they quit. They stop being invested in the game = they quit.

What do you mean invalidating content ? You could get up to 400 by barely playing anyway. And if you're a half decent player in a weak heroic only guild you would've been 400ilvl+ ( way more really due to ressidum and weekly cache ) a long long long long time ago.

So what this does is really just give new players and returning players a more accessible way to reach the new patch that will come. Also, it's pretty nice for rerolls or alts. Like, if you ever wanted to reroll shadow priest, this might be the perfect time to do so. Hell my main rogue is 408 equipped while raiding mythic but all 415 pieces are worse than my 400+ socket pieces, so my ilvl is low. My shammie who I leveld up a few weeks ago is already 407 with three 415 azerites and 415 main hand. Like going over 400 is really not that hard even before this.

Not to mention, all this welfare stuff gets replaced pretty fast if you do any end game content on a consistent basis. Who cares if that random DH who logs in once a week is 403 and my rogue is 408 after months of mythic ? I guarantee you he does horrible damage in heroic raid and even worse in a mythic environment. Ilvl is worthless atm, it's all about player skill.

Why are you keeping calling people scrubs? I have 385 ilvl and I pretty much can't upgrade anymore. This will allow me to get more upgrades. Why does it bother you? Just use rio.
