4yr old PC considering an update to Motherboard/CPU

    Hi all,

    https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fkk69J

The GPU is 2yrs old, other parts are 4yrs old.

I'm wanting to upgrade the CPU, no specific reason just feel like its time for an upgrade. It looks like i'll need to upgrade my motherboard since they've moved onto a different type of socket.

Interested in some general advice around what an upgrade to CPU will give me. I'm satisfied with how quickly the PC boots up, and the RAM is fine for the amount of content I run at any time however, I find some programs are a little slow in loading/screen transitions. Unsure if the slowness is the CPU or GPU.

If i was going to upgrade I have a budget of up to $750 USD

    List of games i play
    WoW
    PubG
    Dota 2
    Witcher 3
    FF14

Everything that you have is fine. If you upgrade CPU/mobo you'll need new ram because they upgraded to ddr4.

No real reason to upgrade if your performance is fine..

Love how you went with a Z370 when the Z390 version is 70 dollars cheaper without sales, 90 currently. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2k3...d-prime-z390-a

@Temp name is correct. Especially since new releases are around the corner.

Save your money and add to it for at least another year.

Have you tried overclocking a bit? You're not using the stock cooler and I'm sure you can go to 4.0 Ghz per core.
