More humans. 10char
Kalimdor was the Wild West, with settlers (orcs), hostile natives (night elves, centaurs) and friendly natives (tauren).
And the goblins have the trade routes in Ratchet and Gadgetzan.
We already have sphynx: https://wow.gamepedia.com/Tol%27vir
They sound lik a mix of saberon, elf and taunka. Or like a weird depiction of GW2 Charr.
I think if we get some now places in Azeroth, it's highly probable that Blizzard takes inspiration in African or Oceanic culture, which are still not represented in WoW.
We have European (humans, night elves), Asian (night elves, orcs, centaurs, draenei, arakkoa, pandaren), American (tauren, troll, night elves)
We have a lot of tolkienian (is this a word?) fantasy, which is based on European mythos.
We also have Nordic mythos influece on Titan installations in Northrend.
The only african influence we have is Uldum, based in Egypt mythos, but mixed with arabian.
Maybe it's a reference to this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcadia_(genus)
Yeah, they're not turtles, but maybe the "arcadian" is to reference a "prehistoric" type of turtle.
Or maybe a reference to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcadia_(utopia)
Maybe Arcadia is a yet-uncharted island, and this turtle is bred there.

What??? Source? Because I don't remember any "bunny race" in Warcraft universe other than Virmen, and those are native from Pandaria.
Arachnathids seem to be retconned, but seems to me they like they are just another type of aqir.
I like the idea of a shark humanoid race, it could have Oceanic inspiration. Something like the Aumaua from Pillars of Eternity, although I'ld like better if they are more animal-like
I think it would be easier to think of what real life cultures/countries or fictional societies/legends Wow hasn't portrayed yet and then work on an adequate race to fit it. For instance:
They could get away with taking inspiration from Mexico with a desert dwelling, fiesta, brightly colored and food loving race that is very superstitious with a dose of necromancy (day of the dead style).
An imperial organized society (think Rome/Early Byzantium), with one strict authoritarian figure, highly organized focused on maintaining itself and its superiority, distrustful of outsiders and looking down on them as inferior while also employing gladiators (think a mix what the Ogre Empire in WoD was but with a more Alliance/Zandalari style vibe and less Clumsy/Savagery or other Ogres stereotypes)
On the already seen side you have inspiration from the Ancient Middle East (Egypt, Nubia, Phoenicia) which have some sort of representation with the Tolvir. I would like it if somehow the Tolvir would become playable (reshaped and become a hybrid between Saberon and regular Tolvir) and they expand a bit more on it with the relation with death/after death (Shadowlands) worshiping the sun (the Light/Naaru) with a caste like system and strictly organized religiously.
Arabic inspired race (the Ethereals are loosely based on them but will most likely never be playable unless they get reshaped, maybe we somehow manage to find survivors from they lost world). Heavily based on trade, high focus on merchants, seeking rare goods and thirst for knowledge (I'm thinking pre-crusade era middle east and spain)
I would say that an Indian/South Asian inspired race could be made, highly spiritual, caste system and very colorful but I don't know that much about the region to kind of imagine what could be used from there and differ from what already appears in WoW.
I will say this about the OP's idea: It would be quite interesting to get an expansion themed around the age of discovery, balancing between establishing trade posts to get access to new resources and wealth for your faction, exploring in search of advantages and potential game changers for the faction war, trying to recruit the natives and maybe even trying to settle displaced races from the faction war.
It will definitely be a filler/setting the stage type expansion (mix between MOP and BFA) but could be a welcome break to allow the story to build up after killing of so many big world ending threats.
I completely agree, and seems like it's how Blizzard works when creating new races.
I know that it's not exactly the same but Vulpera seem to cover that niche to a certain point (although they're inspired on gypsies).
Actually, what we see of the Ogre Empire in WoD are the outskirts of the Empire. It's supposed to be more civilized on their main continent.
It wouldn't be a hard stretch to bring up with another type of tol'vir (they are titan constructs).
Yep, that's totally the influence for Ethereals.
That's Draenei.
Yeah but I said Hostile ENVIRONMENTS, and Kalimdor is relatively tame at least in the upper regions, and the Goblins mostly deal in ores, potions and machines, while the East India Trading Company dealt with a large array of products
the Tol'vir are sphinxes but my Sphinx idea is for the most part human, with elements of the basic and hiercosphinx which is similar to a gryphon
The Fey are mostly meant to depict the more morally grey aspects and appearences of fey creatures of Europe, and the hilarious thing is before I started this thread my Sphinx idea was basically a Warcraft version of the Charr culturally
My Sage idea basically takes from the basic guru trope, and could potentially take from Himalayan or Indian(East), and I should also note that Draenei have Romanian accents while the Lightforged have been identified as a Transylvanian accent
Didn’t read through all the posts, but I would like to see the Jalgar bear humanoids. I hope there model would be fierce, tall, strong and not fat. The furblog are a disappointing bear humanoid. The panda are ok bear humanoid.
Since they warred with the Vrykul they would have to be at least similar in height and strength.
Yeah the whole thing felt so fake that for a moment I though the whole thing was a b class movie in-universe. Such a dissapointment because they did a wonderful world with Draenor which should be the standar everytime we leave the planet. If they are incapable of doing that currently, then some small moon habitable like Endor or Nal Hutta could work too.
I mean for real is there any lore left to create something? Trolls were natives with curse of flesh, titan constructs created other society. Maybe some underground race like nerubians could be a thing, nothing on the ground seems possible unless other ass pulls like tortollans or void elves.
I think I've had enough of removing avatars today that feature girls covered in semen. Closing.

Drakonid.
No furry, pervy pedo shit like vulpera. Just badass edgy dragon people with horns and big dicks.
