Rise of Azshara PTR Development Notes – April 23

We’ve published a new build for the upcoming content update – Rise of Azshara – to our Public Test Realms. Here is an outline of what is now testable, and what is coming in this PTR.

The content above continues to be developed and iterated on like the Vision of Perfection. We appreciate your feedback on all of it. Please note that Ashran may not easily complete a queue in the PTR.

We plan to do a wipe of all characters in a few weeks after getting focused feedback on the Heart of Azeroth Essences. This will allow us to test the feel and pacing of obtaining them all naturally. We’ll give you a heads up on that character wipe here in this forum.

Get into the PTR!
The PTR is now available. To log in to the PTR, simply create a PTR account and copy the character you wish to test from your account. Step-by-step directions can be found here.

Note: World of Warcraft PTR realms are only available to players who have a full World of Warcraft account.

Patch 8.2 PTR - New Models

Patch 8.2 PTR - Caverns of Time Portal Added to Stormwind Portal Room
The latest version of the PTR added a Caverns of Time Portal to the Stormwind Portal Room. As of now it is unusable. There is currently not one implemented in the Orgrimmar Portal Room, but they will definitely find a place for it!

Clarification on the “Against Overwhelming Odds” Quest Reward

There is currently a display error which is causing some characters that are eligible to receive the “Against Overwhelming Odds” quest to see an incorrect item level listed as the reward. However, the rewards are working as intended. Azerite rewards are now meant to be item level 400 and non-Azerite rewards are now meant to be item level 395. The quest chooses one at random for each character. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue and have the correct item level displayed.

As an additional note, when Rise of Azshara releases, this quest will be removed from a character’s quest log if it hasn’t been turned in before it becomes unavailable during a Tuesday morning weekly reset.

If you are referring to Naga wearing armor, their model has been able to since vanilla.


On the topic: I am most curious about the gnome skeleton with the wizard hat.

It is the reward for completing the Stratholme pet dungeon (It is a pet).

I think that is also a pet you can get from the new pet dungeon currency. The Virmin is too.

This is why creating a new portal room for the Horde was stupid, and they should have converted the cleft of shadow to have the portals....It will look dumb with the CoT portal placed randomly...

Even though that's awful that's some how better than yet ANOTHER Twilight Dragon which are insanely and unrealisticly over-present and more numerable than any other dragon flight in the game.
