I can honestly not see a difference at all. It got some weird over-kill plugins only 0.2% of players would care for that uses the addon, and thats it.

Once I had it setup to look like my old Recount addon (I dont want GUI changes...Im a 2002 bold and minimalistic skin guy ;p) it might as well have been recount.

They both record the same damage, they both do their job...Look I have over 100 addons installed, some tiny some bigger, but if recount kills my FPS a bit...well I will hardly notice, even with my shitty 2014 quad core I5.

But I still dont get why this thread was made. Recount is still the most popular meter addon I figure, and its updated in BFA so...
    The reality is different though.

Whenever a change is made or generally over the last 3 expansions or so, Recount has proven majorly faulty many times.

Details is preferred because after it was created slowly over the last 3 years and improved its literally reporting the same as Warcraftlogs in every situation.

Which is why any "more capable" player would start using Details after checking all 3 damage meters.

Also, Recount was known to cause major issues on slower PCs and sometimes had the same bug as Skada, where you could not load in game unless you disabled it.

Been using Details ever since the dude on here has started it and havent had a single loading freeze the last 3 years which says a lot compared to Recount since forever and the -cant count how many times i couldnt load because of recount- moments.

But giving credit where its due, Recount is a legend in Addon scene either way.

We'll, it might be better, but the only time I have seen performance issue was on Onyxia when you did the whelping achievement. If I find the time I think I will try that out again, just hard to prolong it without a level 90 character. You had to disable damage meter (recount) back then unless you had a prolly insane non-existent CPU at that time.

context; You pull all these 35345345 whelps and do the biggest AOE damage and pull you can prolly do in WoW, minus pulling entire instances?

Again I have a old Hashwell 4-core CPU, and Im fine. It can just about handle video editing fine enough (But laggy when scrubbing timeline), and games 1080p reduced settings.

I'm not sure what exactly rader.io has to do with being good or bad, or having stock UI vs modified one which to comfort your subjective taste

Last night I was doing a Waycrest 10 with a 400+ group and in 5 attempts we couldn't kill sisters. I don't treat the game like a job, but the WARLOCK at 402 equal to Paladin tank damage was casually wasting everyone's time. Good thing we had Details to identify doing/taking damage/healing. Very non-joby, very non-hardcory.

The bigger problem are people telling others it's ok to not try to be better and it's ok to be bad.

Yeah, but after a certain point it becomes a double edged sword, once you surpass your basic class knowledge and become comfortable with having to move around and do fight mechanics while being efficient with your uptime and stuff... then it all comes down to disgusting casino, aka titanfogring, procs and rng in general, which is single handedly the most discouraging thing for anybody to even try to get any better

Anyone complaining that damage meters are ruining the game are salty because they do low dps and are being called out on it. Git gud.

Yeah I completely agree. The RNG gearing is totally overboard. For the current tier I was relatively lucky and am geared quite solid with lots of procs and slots I need. For the previous tier I was scraping for gear and I did more M+ and Uldir HC clears than I do Dazar now. Entirely in the gracious arms of the RNG Gods. Not fun.

Have used both and prefer Details as it cuts out all the padding (eg like bomb damage on Gronk) so my dps matches warcraft logs dps (shame cos I am the one who normally grabs the bomb) guess will have to load recount back for that fight and take loads of screenshots to prove how godly I am !!...I can dream
