But "it's RPG stuff". So whatevs.
Don't forget about warlock pets not being able to keep up with carrot+fastest mount and disappear when you get too far, so you have to resummon them with a 10 second long cast. Good times

True, pets in general were pretty derp-y.
Getting caught on stuff, not getting on the boat with you, all sorts of silly pathing issues.

Side Note: My fave irritation with pets was in BC.
Once you got flying, pets wouldn't disappear until you ranged them, so if you were flying like 20 yards above the ground, they would try to run after you, aggro'ing everything in their path and end up dying because back then, 60% flying just wasn't fast enough to range them.
    Sure don't miss that...

I love everything about classic except for the actual raid combat being mostly "spam 1 spell" on classes I'd otherwise enjoy. Warlocks are awesome, as are Mages, but their spam 1 color of magicbolt "playstyle" is really boring to me.

Having to mind aggro, farming resistance gear and all the other things Classic are awesome and I love them, but having MC-level mechanics coupled with 1 button spam classes all over the game is pretty boring to me. Debuff cap doesn't help.

I'll just play a Warrior, seems fun enough for me but if I could, I'd love a Vanilla WoW with more active spells to use. But that's just me, and for Classic's sake I'd rather see it be as faithful as possible

PVP will be heaps of fun I reckon, and it's what I'll do most if I wind up playing, but most bosses having 1 mechanic and then just coming down to doing the most boring rotation ever conceived kinda blows. Warrior and Hunter are...Servicable, I for one enjoy complex over the top rotations, but those two are probably all I'll be playing and they're not that complex to begin with.

Transmog. Other than that, my stereotypical dwarf hunter with white bear pet is ready to roll
No more time wasted in WoW.. still reading this awesome forum, though

Not sure why AoE looting is so important to people compared to some other things on that list. No dual spec, to me, is the most annoying missing feature from the list. Really quite sucks for healers and tanks. I'm also surprised mob tagging isn't on the list as this will probably be one of the most frustrating parts of the launch. Back then, only one person/party got the tag on a mob. If you helped kill it but weren't in party, sorry but no credit for you and have fun waiting for a respawn. Modern WoW also has a spawning mechanic where spawn times scale faster the higher population the zone is. Need to kill 12 boars? Time to battle like 200 other people for the tags. It's not game breaking sure, but launch will be very painful as I suppose it should be.

Most of those will definitely be difficult to acclimate to (the main exceptions being hunter pets and older graphics, I don't mind those). But my #1 will be the AH and mailbox not having do-all functionality, meaning way more clicking involved. I do not miss having to spend half my time online wrestling with the bank alt and the AH/mailbox. Nowadays if you want to put up 200 stacks of peacebloom for the same price it'd take literally 3 seconds. Back then each stack you had to type in all the numbers manually for every individual auction.

Also no summoning stones. Apparently that wasn't the last patch, but the BC pre-patch. I still want them anyway, damn it. The runs to dungeons like Scarlet Monastery for alliance were ludicrous. The closest FP was Southshore I think, 3 zones away. And you probably didn't have a mount yet.

No AOE looting in vanilla is overrated tbh.

I was a frost mage and farmed a lot and it didn't bother me at all back then. Most players will never aoe down multiple mobs

  9. #249
At first i wanted to say mogging.
I love me some transmog, but there is at the same time a certain charm to everyone looking like a deranged murder hobo with the worst fashion sense ever. And being able to quickly see at a glance who is geared to the teeth in sick gear is cool too. Not just tier sets, but seeing those BiS geared Fury Warriors. I didn't even play a Warrior back then(Huntard) but i can easily picture the BiS Fury clownsuit, even after all these years. You see one of them and you instantly know that this guy knows his shit.

My actual biggest pet peeve is going to be a strange one.
    No Barber Shop.

This is going to make my choice in Race and features(hair, face, etc) take forever. I am going to have to carefully go to each and every option, and then even logging in to get a good proper view of the toon before i decide, and potentionally rerolling if i think something is off.

I decided to roll a Dwarf Rogue as an alt, made him a dark haired Dwarf with the ashy/grey skin. Decided it was a good look because he looked like this grimey son of a bitch that would backstab his cousin for a piece of gold.

Then, around lv25ish i was doing a Dungeon with a friend and he pointed out that it looked like my Dwarf's moustache was growing out of his nostrils. Completely ruined the toon for me. Had to reroll to a Gnome Rogue after that. Once i noticed the nostrilstache myself i just couldn't take my toon seriously anymore.

    (Yes, i'm a strange person)
    Yohohoho

Poll needs an "inevitable round of whining players requesting supposed QOL changes to Classic about 2 weeks after release" option.

  11. #251
man its always annoying that most answers people put in such polls are so dumb and generic and almost dont matter

out of all of them i'd say no arenas is the only true downside

but the main downside of vanilla is class design being rather shit(which is understandable tho, cuz it was a new game)

other things like no mount tabs etc. are downsides, but minor ones

You mean more than the ones that I see all over the place already. Although I notice most of those are from people that just want retail rewind to classic and not true fans that just want to play vanilla.

Ye that's literally the worst thing for classic. There is no fun in not playing the game.
There is no way you'll level in only 4 days. And downtime is heavily reliant on which class you play, which talent you use and the gear you select - that's where the tunnel vision of high-level content falls flat.

If you meant that classes able to do more than one role were tuned to do less damage, that's true. But the way you tell it seems to mean there was some sort of mechanism which checked the class and reduced the damage, and that's certainly absurd.

Because this new tagging system is pure retarded shit that destroys the whole interaction between players. Exclusive tagging was one of the two main driving force to group up, prevented exploit-like behaviour to make others kill whole groups for you and didn't allow a mob to give ten times its loot just because ten people damaged it.

Having to spend excessive amounts of time. I'd like to do some dungeons and a raid or two but don't want to have to commit for more than ~two hours at a time.

It wasn't me who coined the term. I just took it as it shows on WoWPedia.

The answer is simple: I forgot. Plus only being able to only put 20 options for the poll. I reached 19 fairly quickly (with #20 being 'other'), to be honest. But yes, I wouldn't put that on the list if I remembered, and maybe other stuff I forgot like 'no guild banks' and weapon skills.

I guess you never "trained" mobs onto someone else fighting to have them be hit and aggro the other player?
I did a Necromancer thing. Check it out! All feedback welcome!
Update 08/17: I changed how the Bone spec's golem mechanic works, as well as some other minor changes.
I also did a Bard thing! Questions, comments and ideas, all welcome!
Update 09/02: Apparently the mods decided to merge my class concept thread with an existing one.

Probably gold costs. I was god awful at making gold back when it was current because I was a kid. Even now as an adult I'm still not that great at making gold even on live so we'll see how it goes lol

People dont seemed to be too concerned about the respec cost. But for me, it give me pause and makes me want to hesitate a little.
I want to damage and heal in both PVE and PVP. Because of the respec costs, I will have to roll 2 toons. And rolling 2 toons in classic will be almost intolerable for me personally. One is enough. Not asking for dual spec,, just remove the respec costs. JMHO.

Transmogs will probably pop up later, but if they are smart, it will be locked behind a long questline and costing a lot of gold.
