That's a very nice picture.. But they should have some of those already. Like a FUCKING SHOPPING CART.
When they have a fully featured store and stop doing the exclusivity shit, I'll happily buy from them, if they're cheaper than Steam. But until then, I'm sticking with Steam.
Also, claiming exclusives isn't sustainable is laughable when you look at Xbox/Playstation.. Those things sell based on their exclusives. Hell, look at Nintendo's stuff, they're 90% first party exclusive driven, with 3rd party being just icing on the cake.
It's a meme at this point, them having a "roadmap" means jack shit. Just look at anthem and their "roadmap", how it helps them and how players are oh-so happy about it.
If service provider doesn't provide much service, but promise you that the'll get better eventually - you return to them when this "eventually" actually becomes a reality and use those service providers that already have this, you know, at least wishlist and shopping cart, at max, tools for community to be a thing.
You know why i like steam? Because i can lob bunch of games on my wishlist and get notified when they are at a discount. Or when i buy the I of the dragon game for my nostalgia fix and can actually access community that'll help me out with fixing some annoying stuff. Or that i can run through reviews of my curators, who i've picked because we both like similar games, and plan my purchase based on that. Or, for the heck of it, buy the game anyways, play for an hour and refund it without any problems if i don't like it

Timed Exclusives isn't sustainable, actual exclusives is.
To your example Xbox One is the perfect example of timed exclusives not being sustainable, They had a fuck ton of them at the start of this gen and it didn't help. Because in the end they had no actual exclusives to drive people to their market.

Ya people need to just chill the fuck out and breath.
If something goes to EGS and you don't like it then go play something else. 100's of games release each day I'm sure they can find something to play.

Actually the PC platform does need it because Valve needs competition.
Steam is a pile of shit and anyone who says different is just fanboying. Valve needs a massive kick in the ass and sadly the only way they will get it is with a company who has a ton of money and actually gives half of a shit.
Don't get me wrong EGS is also a pile of shit but so is Valve, The argument of what one stinks less does not matter. There is a truck load of shit Valve needs to improve on and competition is the only way it will happen.
Want the EGS shit to end? Then force that Valve should go 88% and it will end.

Nearly every year having a data breach, Assist flip/shovelware on the store, The layout itself, Its almost nonexistent customer support. Nearly allowing games like Rape Day to get on the store, Only reason it didn't was because of the PR shit show that happen.
Would you like me to keep going or would you like more examples of how broken the store is?

Handwaving is all they deserve when your arguments are laughably vague and ubsubstantiated. If you want your criticism (if you can even call it that) taken seriously, at least provide some tangible examples instead of being a chickenshit and bailing out when you're called out.
Not sure what has been said in this thread.
Ok, there is nothing wrong with epic buying a studio and have them make themselves games... possibly exclusive to their store. But that is not what has happened now.
Epic buys a studio that had games on steam. As far as I know considerably popular game even. It has been available on steam for quite a while. Now they are pulling it out. You might think thats ok.
Think of companies like EA, ect. They have bought studios before. Have they removed games from everywhere except their own launcher?
Think of this whatever you want, but I think its bullshit what epic is doing. Sure, have any future games exclusive to epic, but removing existing games. No.
What epic has succeeded so far, as far as I'm concerned, is that I wont touch their store even with long stick. Not until, if it ever happens, that epic does become big enough to take steams place. So far they are just making a mess. I'll see in a few years. Until then, there doesnt exist long enough stick for me to touch epic store.
If you really believe that Epic Games are going to stop what is in essence a hostile take over of the PC gaming arena, you must be smoking some really good stuff.. Because even if Valve did change their revenue split, it will not stop Epic Games from continuing aggressively acquiring games for their store..
As it has been shown that they say one thing and then do the opposite.. And I have to laugh you accuse those who do not see Steam as you do as fanboys, but the way you are carrying on about EGS shows you are a fanboy of that steaming pile of excrement that is the Epic Games Store..

Yeah I am not even going to touch EGS, don't trust it and especially do not trust Tim Sweeney..

i assume "will remain available on steam" means: steam launches epic launcher, which then launches the game.
think ubisoft pulled that one on me once, steam just installed uplay for me lololol.
Heck yeah, China I guess.
Are you guys prepared for a game market owned by the Chinese government, where things like blood, death, and women exposing very moderate amounts of skin is no longer a part of your games? Because I sure am!
Seriously, China can screw off until they learn how to actually create a first-world government. I know it won't matter much in the grand scheme of things but I'm just going to treat every game that goes to the Epic store as dead out of pure principle.
Yes but it would stop them doing timed exclusive deals because that is something they can not keep doing. I hate to break it to you but exclusives are the core of competition.
Welcome to dealing with what every other market has been dealing with for ages.

China has nothing to do with this, conspiracy theory's are not allowed here mate.

Yes anyone turning a blind eye to the issues with Steam has a fanboy...Period.
Also kinda hard to be a fanboy of something I have never once used myself(EGS).

It's not really a conspiracy. Epic games is completely owned by Tencent.
It doesn't take a leap of logic to realize that Epic Games is trying to aggressively expand with Tencent's aid. Epic games was a minor publisher with some pretty minor games before they were bought out by Tencent who were the ones who pushed for the Battle Royale version of Fortnite that the game is now known for. This is recorded stuff you can look up yourself.
How much stake you think Tencent has in his Epic Games launcher debacle is a bit more of a question but considering Epic's massive expansion as a whole only started after being purchased I think it can stand to reason the two things aren't a coincidence.
