[SPOILER] We can all stop speculating now. Sylvanas' endgame is N'Zoth.

First of all, watch this video if you haven't. It's not mine, but this guy was right all along, check out the "eye of the corruptor" speech from the javelin questline:

Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. Listen. Listen. LISTEN.
Eye of the Corruptor: You were right to doubt them.
Eye of the Corruptor: The undrowned will join the chorus. Listen to it.
Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. Open the gate. Step into the abyss. Complete the circle.
Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. You know this is the truth. It is but one of a thousand. You have only to listen.
Eye of the Corruptor: Everywhere you look, the stars gaze back. You know their form already. You have but to listen.
Eye of the Corruptor: Listen. She is a threat. Kill her. KILL HER.
Eye of the Corruptor: The queen threatens the king. There is no way to win. Listen.

Eye of the Corruptor confirms it: The Queen threatens the King. In other words, Sylvanas' actions were always about getting N'Zoth ready for destruction. And she's wielding an empty blade vessel that used to hold another old god.
Someone might say, the old god minion could be talking about azshara. Wrong. The "she is a threat, kill her" speech is the very same speech Alleria hears in Three Sisters from the void about Sylvanas.

I don't think she wants to destroy N'Zoth. She wants to use him to end all life on Azeroth, which is her stated goal.

And even then, it leaves a LOT of questions:
    1) If the void knows all that, why is N'Zoth actively trying to get closer to Sylvanas? If he knows she is a threat, why command his forces to break him free now? Why not just wait until Alliance+Horde have disposed of her?
    2) It is N'zoth himself who INSISTS the dagger remains there and goes into the hands of Sylvanas. He obviously WANTS her to have it.
    3) What exactly was the point of the faction war?

    Edit:
Actually, N'zoth would NEVER refer to himself as a "King"...he is a God. King would be an insult. It is much more likely this line implies Sylvanas, the Bansheequeen, is threatening Bolvar, the Lichking.
It makes some sense that Sylvanas would need the power of N'Zoth or at least the dagger to stand a chance against the Lichking. Many have forseen Sylvanas would go after the Crown of Command sooner or later. Still, that does not answer the most important question from above:
If the void/N'Zoth considers Sylvanas a threat and wants her to die/fail....why is he doing EVERYTHING in his power to help her succeed? He has been sitting safe in this prison for thousands of years. Why would he INTENTIONALLY bring the dagger into Sylvanas' possession and expose himself to her now? It's not like Sylvanas can even get to him without the help of Azshara.

You must not have seen the video. They (Azshara and N'zoth) put Sylvanas in power thru Vol'jin because they thought they could make her an ally, but Sylvanas is playing them. That is why she destroyed the fifth world tree. Five world trees, five old gods...each tree, once destroyed, allows the destruction of an old god. The faction war caused by the destruction of the world tree was not her goal but an unintended consequence that she then turns around for her own personal gain. By imprisoning baine, she forces alli + horde to join forces to free him, and then once again they join forces in nazjatar. Had she not baited and then imprisoned baine, the joint effort to free him would not happen, and tensions would be too high for a combined effort against azshara and n'zoth. N'zoth wants sylvanas to have the dagger because he thinks she will use it to imprison the world soul, but she will actually imprison him.

So, if I understand this correctly, this is what the gray morality meant when they kept parroting it?

As pathetic as it sounds, Yes. She couldn't exactly ask the night elves to leave their tree now, could she? Yet only by destroying it could she free the world from the bigger threat. The cinematic even tips this heavily: Sylvanas compared what she was doing with what the Lich King did. WHY did the Lich King destroy Quel'thalas and killed her along the way? To defile the sunwell and ressurect Kel Thuzad. In other words, he did not do it for the sake of destroying the high elves, but for a different purpose. She did the very same...She destroyed the tree to get to N'zoth.

Yeah, at 5% during the N'zoth fight Sylvanas will jump up behind him and stab him with the empty Xalatath.

Defeating/sealing him away once and for all.

I just feel like the fanbase is going to collectively roll their eyes at the end of this expansion. Yeah, plot twists are nice, but this time it feels so close to MoP that nobody wants to go down this road again. There should have been hints more steadily paced to raise the idea that she's doing this for Azeroth and not herself. 8.2 is a bit too late to start tbh

And that also doesn't involve the devs telling us "guys it's okay she's morally gray" because nobody is listening.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. So, it's probably true.

Going to have a hearty guffaw if Blizzard's writers are corny enough to have Sylvanas go all Arya Stark on N'zoth.

While this is very possible, I don't think that this is how it's gonna end. As per all the datamining, we dont even get to fight n'zoth and 8.3 involves dragons, which i'd imagine has to do with space/time travel. Remember, Sylvanas is a strategist, but so is n'zoth. I think that Sylvanas doesn't know how deep the rabbit hole goes, and the king of diamonds is a pawn (magni), as is the PC up till this point. IMO 8.3 will set the stage for the next expansion, which involves us truly working our way to defeat nzoth, may even involve nyalotha. Not sure how it all goes down, but i'd imagine that n'zoth and azeroth are one and the same by the time we get to him. Sargeras was never trying to kill the baby titan, he was trying to kill the old god with the wound.

Like: Grom Hellscream, Illidan Stormrage and Morrigan?

Then again it could mean Sylvannas threating Anduin. 8.3 leak a while back has it saying that she turns the tables on the alliance. Sylvannas is seeking more power for her own means. She isn't the type to do whats best for azeroth. "The queen threatens the king. There is no way to win." Anduin has already told Saurfang that he doesn't have the power to take her down. 8.3 has me curious if shes gonna end up attacking Anduin. It would be a move that turns the tables on the alliance. The king injured on the sidelines. While the alliance tries to figure out who will lead in his place.

Why would an old god minion care about manduin? No...plus whenever old god minions talk about him, its always boy king. And he sits at the master's table, if i remember right, which im sure will be made clear in the future as to why. Plus, why would Sylvanas want to kill manduin and defeat the alliance after she went thru all the trouble of setting up the reconciliation from the burning of the tree so that they would be side by side to face azshara? Did you forget her speech from the opening cinematic? "ours is a cycle of hatred. we have paid the price for sharing this world, and we have forgotten what makes us strong" (and that is union).

Far more likely that she's been a pawn this entire time, believing herself to be brilliant. Player getting played and all that. Her entire current story arc was sparked by a horrifying afterlife experience after she died on Yogg's blood, prompting a heel turn change in her character towards promoting chaos everywhere she goes. She's a stooge.

That's exactly why it's the most probable ending...

It's the only possible ending given the clues. 5 keys to open our way. 5 torches to light our path. 5 world trees burned.

Were is it that they reconcile things between the horde and alliance for the burning of Teldrassil? I don't recall that happening yet. Unless thats just more bad writing by Steve Danuser, who should be layed off/replaced by Activision.

The 5 torches were the Xal'atath quest line just before Crucible opened. The knife, ourselves and the relics we collect (Void stone, trident, crown) are the 5 lights/keys. we were the 5th.

The "king" is probably Magni if we keep up with the chess metaphor of the king of diamonds being made a pawn, or Gallywix if they go with the oldschool playing-card divination meaning of "King of Diamonds" referring to business.

The rest is probably just kept vague enough to refer to anything so blizz can do whatever and it will always 'sorta kinda' fit.

no n'zoth will grab the dagger as she attempts to stab him and then she lets it fall and then stabs him.
