Someone grinding double digit hours for tokens for the equivalent of gear that you get in a couple of lockouts in the miniscule of that time for puggable content (heroic or m+, which doesnt even have lockouts) is the opposite of casual friendly. Its bad friendly, in cost of more time, which most casual player claim to have none of it

People should stop using casual as a smokescreen for being bad. Im pretty sure most of method raiders play this game on average more casually then people that claim being casuals and having 30 alts and grinding every day or something like that

There is no several type of casuals, stop inventing own definition. The words you looking is for are bad players
Rants about people using wrong definition of casual - writes a small essay proving he doesn't know what he's talking about. The world we live in....

Fyi, Having the liberty to engage with the game for the amount of time of your choosing - that's what it means to be a casual player, i.e. doing something irregularly.
If he has has 15 minutes to do some quests today - it's fine. If he doesn't want to do any - it's fine. If he suddenly has 3 hours to do quests and get some token currency on Monday - that does not make him a hardcore grinder trying to mask him being bad. Method and co. are anything but casual. Sure, new raid comes out and you can get insane amounts of ilvl/hour compared to any "bad"(in your words) player. Do you take into consideration the amount of time that has been spent getting to that point in time?

You are also missing the mount/pets if going for gear.

Right now it seems to be 5 pearls from a weekly, and i can assume WQs might give them, i would estimate 1/430 item per month without missing anything at best.

Which would be accurate to get a full set around 6-7 months where its gonna reset cause new raid somewhere at 2020 Janu/Feb.

Unless they are farmable from rare spawns etc, which would probably mean a couple of months if going full farm mode i would assume.
Oh man, come the F on...are you being serious right now? Is this math correct or is just guesses?

Anybody who knows the game also knows that this is EXACTLY the experience you will get out of it as a solo-player. You do not magically get invited into +10 farmruns by players you don't know when your gear sucks and you have no r.io.

What you need to do to get out of this situation is either a) socialise a lot more and find a group of players around you or b) improve your gear and r.io by sucking it up and suffering through the first very bad weeks.

Neither a or b match YOUR OWN definition of what a casual is likely to do. Once your r.io is high you can go "casual" because people will invite you and all you need to do is play good in your 1-2 dungeons a week, sure. But if your gear is hsit and your r.io is bad you have NO WAY to get out of this situation short of stop being casual for some weeks.
Thank you for your post, thats exactly the situation.
I dont want to sound entitled...but i really hate to "fail" a Mythic+...and it happens a lot from my experience.
So i just choose not to do it :S

But im pretty convinced from your posts your bad tbh. Like you need gear for what, enabling war mode and dont have a "major disadvantage" in pvp, after pvp is normalizied? ok
Try to duel a 400-something item level player with your 370 ilvl toon...then come back to me...and tell to my face pvp is "normalized"

Ooooooookay....whatever floats your boat I guess.

i don't care if the gear is green, blue, or epic. but i want to kill things FAST. fuck slow gameplay, fuck slow classes, and fuck killing shit slow.

this gear will help me accomplish that. the game's only fun when i'm going 1k miles an hour.
I'm assuming it will be at a similar rate to catch up gear in Broken Shore in Legion.

Well, shit, son, you're delusional. I gave you a definition from a dictionary. But I guess you must be an authority on such things, who am I to argue here.

I'm more eager to believe you are an authority on being a bad player, that seems to be your shtick, lol.

    i'm ok with that.

argus was a bit faster, would prefer that. but it's whatever. as long as i get to a point where the goddamned ilvl scaling isn't felt anymore. doesn't seem to matter how high i get my gear on live, nothing ever feels like i've progressed. it's shit and makes me want to quit, and i mean i virtually have, i just still have a sub for about 8 more days.

ilvl scaling is the most cancerous garbage they have ever introduced. whatever piece of shit thought it up needs to be beaten with a belt.

Correct me if wrong, but isnt 430 ilvl a bit better than Broken Shore gear was at the time.

That gear was around the same item level of the previous raid tiers LFR. This gear starts low, but can be upgraded and that is the big change. It wont be nearly as impactful as @Togabito seems to be hoping, but it will bridge some gaps for people.

No it's not. There are plenty of mythic guilds out there that raid two nights a week and I've even seen a few that raid 1 night a week for 3-4 hours and still clear mythic difficulty content. I've been in 2 night a week guilds that had no issues clearing all mythic level raid content.

Problem is, there is no end goal at the end of casual experience. Raiders have their progression, PVPers have their rating. For ultra casual people it's better to farm some mount or transmog, because it will actually last.

BfA really needs it's own Mage Tower in 8.3. It could be designed aound "world content" gear from next patch.

It's hard to tell because some of the stuff seems locked behind reputation and Blizzard isn't providing a way to get those reps quickly on the PTR. You can get about 5 pearls per day from daily activities, but perhaps more once you get higher reputation? Also, the gear you buy costs 5 pearls and is a 385 ilvl baseline. Then you purchase another item for 20 pearls to bump it to 400. Then you can purchase additional items that bump the item by 5 ilvls for 10 pearls each. So from 385 to 430 it's a total of 85 pearls or (at the current rate) about two weeks per item for a 430 item. This excludes azerite gear btw, there are different items for azerite gear at 30 pearls each because they go up by +15 ilvls each time from 385 so their cost for a 430 would be 95 pearls (5 base + 30x3).

I don't care what you do, you should do what you enjoy doing. But your statement is factually incorrect.

You say you have LFR ilvl and if you do keys you would need to go to at least +6 or +7. That is not correct. LFR rewards 370. Mythic +2 rewards 375 in the end of dungeon chest and 385 in the weekly cache. If you have LFR gear you would see upgrades even from +2's.

Again, do what you enjoy. If you just don't like mythic+ that's cool, but don't post false information as a justification. Just say you don't like it.

Interesting that the definition you are getting so upset about not everyone agreeing with, is not the one you find when you google it. Could it be that its quite a relative term, and is very subjective?

    Just one example:

    TOP DEFINITION
    Casual Gamer
A person who plays games but aren't competitive. Usually they are just there to be social and have fun but if they end up losing in the game they wouldn't mind. They don't put in a lot of effort to try to win. They may or may not play long hours of games. A casual gamer doesn't place their gaming as a first priority

looks ok to me. my main will probably use it until it gets the raid gear it needs. my alts will be happy boys and girls

Waiting 1 entire week for a 385 piece...it wouldnt feel like Chirstmas...at all.

Duels aren't, any open world pvp isn't. Instanced pvp is to a point, giving a very small advantage to somebody with higher item level.
