    Something massive comes next expansion

    Outland dying?
    Forsaken own faction?
Classic release which will affect the decisions of the devs (positively hopefully)
Bfa a pretty straightforward and bad expansion with nothing new which means they save something for the next
The leveling system will change too because oh well, getting to 130 is mehh

I'm now hyped about the next expansion, I think WoW will return back to its golden years, Blizzard still has a lot of trump cards and I believe we are getting something great after bfa. Bfa was probably a way for Blizzard to stall and filler while changing completely current WoW. We are in a testing period apparently, we just have to endure for now but the reward is coming. Blizzard is now under pressure to deliver and when that happens, it usually doesn't fail.

Blizzard used to make great games but those took lots of years to be created, it's impossible to create great expansions every 2 years or so, they need much more time for this. It's a consistent pattern now, they filler with one expansion so that they can create a much better one after.

Don't be naive. Next expansion will be more of the same. They're not going to shake up the core formulae. Blizzard don't do risk.

Going out on a limb here, but I suspect you’ve made some conclusions with little basis.

    1) Outland has been dying since it is Outland. Y'know, it's a floating rock.
    2) There won't be a new faction ever. I hope you don't need an explanation why that wouldn't work.
    3) Every expansion is straightforward, BfA is not better or worse than any other.
    4) A level squish is a possibility, but that's it. Don't expect an overhaul to the basic leveling formula.

It will prolly be some revamped stuff :/ WoD was Outland revamped, sure "new" zones but still too alike. Legion featured characters we already knew, such as a fairly high emphasiz on Guldan and Illidan, which are also revamps. As well as Dalaran returning... BFA is actually the most original expansion in a while.

I fear we go back to like another version of Northrend or something, maybe with a new lich king

The only way they will save the live game is if they remove this RNG casino bullshit that's invaded the game, layer upon layer of RNG and over complex systems that are not needed. Go back to basics like what the earlier iterations of the game had and watch people flock back to the game.

Currently it feels like you must login, do a whole bunch of different daily tasks you feel obliged to do otherwise you "miss out" then you run out of time to do anything else unless you play for hours on end everyday. Repeat.

It's no surprise everyone is sick to death of this shit it's because the heart of the game is gone and it's simply not fun. There's plenty of content out there to do however, who has the time and for what reward? I couldn't give a shit about my 10th mount recolour unlocking or that 952nd pet. The game was about gear and killing things, sometimes with friends, take it back to this again.

The final confirmation of Outland dying was in WoD, those special quests with Archmage Vargoth. So it was about god damn time.

And yes i am in the train of "Something big will happen next exp" just because think about it, we have almost 12 new races with flavors. Prob new classes next exp or something new. But after the cinematic of Safe Haven, i dont see Forsaken as it use to, maybe Blizzard wants to do the 3 faction just what they wanted for Vanilla.

Somewhat offtopic, but what is happening to today's Outland? Sure, it's a pretty !@#&ed place, but I still love it

People need to realize, that Classic is not going to have any reaction for Devs. Even Nost at it's most active point(not counting bot accounts) only had about 250k active players. That's at worst 1/8th of what BFA is currently at. Classic isn't going to be super active, it's not going to be huge, it's not going to show retail devs anything except that people "prefer" how trash the game is now in comparison to how trash it was back then.

Well we saw reference to it in the Cinematic that came out yesterday. Thrall was in Outland Nagrand. So it could be foreshadowing with Saurfang saying "this place isn't right, it's dying" essentially.

The golden years are literally being brought back with Classic and that's a sad sign of the times IMO. It's shown how far current WoW has strayed from its path, and how it's gotten players to yearn for what was lost.

If they want to bring back the golden years then they need to see how Classic does, and learn from it.

I hope next expansion is simply called "World of Warcraft: N'Zoth", where the new continent is N'Zoth and we battle against him and his core, then we go to Ny'alotha to discover some real Void fuckery going on, finally discovering the identity of the Void Lord trying to screw with our universe.

It took me awhile to find the exact source. the TLDR its you found objects that Vargoth its sending to the past (makes no sense because WoD its another dimension too) but then when you find everthing, this quest comes at hand to obtain Vargoth as a follower https://www.wowhead.com/quest=36027/...chmage-vargoth

now for those who dont want to enter the link:
Ah, <name>. It is wonderful to "see" you. As you are no doubt aware the state of Outland in our own timeline is constantly degrading.

I wish to extend my remote services to your cause so that I might better investigate Draenor in the time before it was ripped asunder.

This projection may seem translucent, but I can assure you it acts as a perfect conduit for my own powers.

    Will you accept my service?

By this point (WoD 2015) this was the last information of Outland for us until well Saurfang and Thralls cinematic. Its degrading every day and maybe there is not a solution, when its going to fully explode or destroy, we dont know.

Maybe big cosmic magic will happen, maybe Outland will crash into Southern Hemisphere of Azeroth, maybe a bit will break off and wreck the sword and plug up the sword hole, maybe....

Yes they do, people just bitch about it everytime so they take steps backwards

Next expansion should be the final one, it's time to wrap it up. They should revamp everything so that every past expansion with their raids and dungeons and whatnot is current content. Make it a time travel themed expansion if necessary.

"Its time to wrap it up" = yes tell that to the shareholders at the shareholder meeting when they ask why WoW's revenue is now 0 instead of hundreds of millions of dollars. "Oh... we decided to wrap things up guys!".

The same dev/narrative team that brought you BFA. Nothing will change, so don't let the hype fool you at blizzcon. BFA fooled quite alot of people into thinking it was gonna be a good expansion. Then we see how it really is now. Next expansion another rinse and repeat, class changes again like always. Pathfinder garbage for 8-10+ months, RNG, useless podcast with Ion that goes no were. Lets also not forget how they pushed back Kultiran and Zandalari allied races. Next expansion they'll likely do that with the popular allied races for both sides. Add them half way threw the expansion instead of at the start. Also don't forget BFA costed more then Legion, and are they gonna jack the price up for the next expansion to $70 for regular?
