Things which seem to defy the known physical laws. Science can attempt to explain it only by using known physical laws they have measured and observed. Beyond those, they are lost. Guessing is all they can do.

    The known physical laws.
It's how it works. Science now understands far more than it did 100 years ago.
Given time it will solve these "things that defy physics".

Sure it has. Which is why I said it was a great tool for mankind. But solve all the mysteries we have in the universe? Na. Not even close.

I can highly recommend a YouTube channel known as Science and Futurism with Isaac Arthur which deals with the issues discussed here (and much more besides), including how to survive the end of the universe. (And colonising the sun, but that was more a thought experiment as a result of a challenge by followers of the channel.)

to be fair we have been sending signals for what 100-200years max ?
those signals of ours havent even reached that far yet, wait another 10000 and then we can see if nobody encountert our signals

considering our own galaxy is 52 000 light years big roughly we could just be in a little corner with no live

same deal if a civilization is our level right now on the other side of the milky way, its gonna be a few thousend years before we ever pick that up

Gotcha - have to love how unclear written-only communication can be sometimes.

Thoughts on getting back to the moon?

Oh, we absolutely should. And then even further. We may or may not wreck this planet completely, but we should be looking for whatever is out there. And if we are doing interplanetary stuff regularly, it makes sense to have a launch station in lower gravity.

Totally agreed. Moon. Mars. Titan (or whichever Saturn satellite is most "practical"). Alpha Centari.

Ah, yes "Reapers". The immortal race of sentient starships, allegedly waiting in dark space. We have dismissed that claim.

I think the biggest fraudulent manipulation is convincing some people that reality will only be figured out by science.

What if we are being sabotaged on purpose so that we don't leave the planet, progress slowed down due to backwards thinking until the apocalypse. Humans are puppets and we are easily manipulated when under educated.

Is it backwards thinking to apply moneyed interests to scientific progress?

Maybe, but things like religion are definitely keeping us from becoming so much more than what we could be. It would be a good idea for a book.
