Huge problem with pure RNG quest.

    Runelocked Chest quest in Nazjatar.
So. This bejeweled quest that needs you to match 5 yellow runes at once to complete.
Was -ANYONE- thinking, or even testing the RNG on this?
Like. It's literally a slot machine RNG based quest to waste time.
    I just... I just can't.

I did it. Took about 7 or 8 minutes. But I do think it should be changed to 4 runes instead of 5.

It took me about 40 minutes. What with bad rng, or people resetting my progress with mob aggro.
There's also the problem of people that are colorblind

I can't believe you spent 40 minutes on one WQ for 75 rep. I did it on ptr and saw it was RNG ass after 10 minutes. One day I got lucky solved within 2 minutes other day it was 10 minutes with no solve so hearthed and logged off. Your first post is hilarious

This is the definition of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Goodjob op.

Why are you making potshots at me when the quest is badly designed?

Kodos to you for your determination and perseverance. I agree it should be 4 instead of 5 as well, for now I'm just passing it up completely til they either do that, some phasing or clear the immediate area of interfering mobs.

They have various colorblind modes in the game. If they don’t work for an individual said individual simply saves the time in even attempting a shit quest.

Newsflash, just in, wow is designed purely with rng in mind that is intended to keep you playing as long as possible without realising how bad it really it is.

Yet back way when, this wasn't an actively pursued design decision.

Touting it over and over(we know) isn't really useful or helping anyone.

Most of us here, if not all(you included most likely) would love to have less of it, or have it gotten rid of entirely.

Randomness has it's place. Randomness paired with randomness is where the absurd starts. Loot being the prime example.

So abit of confused with this one, if you line up 3 of the same symbols they "trigger" and disappear,
so how are you meant to line up 5 of the same colour if you lose 3 when they line up?

The Bejewelled world quests/secrets are the best and I love them.

It's not pure RNG, just hone your Bejewelled skills and you'll be lining up the 5s much easier.

The simplest way is to have 2 on either side like:

    [red] [red] [anything] [red] [red]

Then position a red next to that [anything] and switch it down to get 5 reds in a row.

Ah i was worried that might be the solution, but thanks for clarifying.
