And I'm trying to clarify that perception.

As to "it" being around long before this round of attacks piped up, I realize that, and want people to consider that it might all be related to his documented physical disability. People generally don't understand the variety of stutters people can suffer from. I had to read up on Biden's because it's atypical.

What concerns me is that the more you have to explain something, the more you're losing. I mean, four years ago we were all reading up on Hillary's email scandal so we could explain why it wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be. It didn't help the perception of Clinton, or the email scandal at al. What concerns me is 8 more months of having to explain that "no, he stutters," or relitigating the Hunter Biden/Burisma story will have the same result.

Boost the signal of the positive examples of Biden speaking well and looking presidential. Informing people about his disability does undercut the dementia narrative which has popped up so it is worth doing in a decisive manner, but engaging in back and forths with people boosts their narrative which is frankly "stickier." If they say 100 times he has dementia, and you say 100 times he has a stutter, I'm almost certain he comes out looking worse than if they cried dementia 10 times and you just replied once. It's really something you want people to think about as little as possible, so ignoring it is for the best, for the most part.

I think you make a very good point. Repeatedly denying/clarifying a negative is also repeating the negative. Definitely something to consider.

At this point it's just practice more than anything else. Seeing what the opposition is pushing and finding smooth talking-point rebuttals. But yeah, they are getting pretty awful.
