Yeah, you clearly have not met or heard the guy himself talk much xD

First of all, there is a reason why Metzen is highly regarded in the Blizzard community, because he is very much the creative backbone of WoW and has been one of the few people who really made the world of Warcraf come alive. Blizzard as a company owe much of their current and past success to the mind of Metzen, so it makes sense they honor him.

Thrall is also not a self-insertion of him. He is the voice of Thrall, because when they made Warcraft 3, he was there and it was easier to have a designer deliver a voice. Besides, if anybody says that the voice acting he does is bad, are just insane.

Finally, the reindeer Metzen, is just a long line of characters who have been named after devs in the game. I think you would have to look far and wide for a senior member of Blizzard, who does NOT have a character reference to the game xD

Well Chris Metzen earned the respect he deserve, and he get the rewards he deserve, plus he is not CEO or COO to apply statues and stuff in the company, say that to Mike Morhaime or someone equal in the company.

Let's talk a little bit about who Chris Metzen is.

Metzen is the guy who helped develop the core lore and story of Warcraft. not the WoW game. THE WHOLE FUCKING WARCRAFT UNIVERSE.
Metzen literally created Azeroth. their full-time artists.. whose job it is to create the visual world.. got schooled by him, with acrylic paint and an officer wall.
Metzen was the creative and story force behind the most popular, and one of the highest grossing, games EVER.
Metzen was the voice of blizzcon. The master of MC's. The cult icon of the con.
Metzen is the guy who cared so much about the success of blizzard that he put his mental health on the back-burner to make sure that the players got their money's worth!
Metzen is the guy who even after he retired, still reaches out to the community, and interacts with them. He was out of the business.. and STILL he is a geek at heart.

OP, you don't have the slightest clue who Metzen actually is (professionally, or personally) and you should probably get this thread deleted to limit the exposure of your ignorance, daft callousness, and total disregard for all of the things that Metzen did to bring these stories to life!
