That's how I feel about flying. But imo it should be sooner, in 9.1.5 (~6 months after launch). For sure BfA, when we got it ~11 months post release, was to late.

Honestly, if they got rid of pathfinder and made us hit exalted with X faction before we could purchase flying instead of artificially gating it behind whatever time frame they consider "appropriate", I would not be upset.

If pugs already deny based on this things, what difference does it make if Blizz adds covenants into the mix? There will always be a meta, and the community will decline any combination of spec / class already even if the difference is minimal. So really, the covenants do nothing to solve the problem and in fact do nothing to make it worse because it would exist agnostic to them.

If pugs will not invite people based on Covs, then they are simply gimping themselves and limiting available roster to roughly 25%. Therefore they WILL get over them, and inv based on actual performance/accomplishments, as it was the case for years.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that your average pug won't really give a shit about people's covenant choices.

It's going to be those people who are trying to min/max be cutting edge shitbergs.

The more I've thought about it, the more of a non-issue I think it's become. Like Blizz has already said you're not 100% locked into a covenant choice, it might just be harder to go back to it after you leave one. And while there's always going to be the one covenant that sims .01% better for your class, I think at the end of the day, if Blizz is capable of balancing them even within lets say 5% of each other, then it won't really end up mattering too much.

What people are sleeping on is that there is likely going to be a #1 for each covenant combo... on a SPEC BY SPEC basis. There's no fucking way that people are going to be able to keep track of what the #1 covenant is for each and every spec in each and every piece of content, every tuning update.

The Venthyr teleport is a problem and needs to be altered, but for the class abilities unless there's any that are infamously and terribly bad I really doubt anyone is going to see a sub rogue apply and ask "what's your covenant" so that they can check a website to see if it's the best one. People will still decline based on class or spec but soulbind/covenant is too much information for a PUG leader.
