Trump being Trump /10char. He plans to let people who were appointed by elected officials control speech on the internet. Basically whatever party is in power can silence speech.

Violence Jack Respects Women!
So basically he doesn't have anyone around him to inform him how unconstitutional it is to tell twitter "No you can't ban that racist" or facebook "No you can't block that Russian bot posting fake information"
Oh look, Trump is opposing the First Amendment.
Is anyone actually surprised?
What a snowflake.
Well, it's not like he'll be in WH in the future
Can't wait until the clown show swoops in and tell us how totally not fascist this is.
As long as it targets liberals, I'm sure the usual people will be ok with it.
Where are the champions of free speech to rally against the president?
Of course, knowing cons, they will declare opposing God Emperor Trumps attack on the First Amendment is the real attack on the First Amendment. Doesn't matter how many times you tell them that the free speech protections of the First Amendment only applies to government censorship and private companies are free to do what they want.
"If you are ever asking yourself 'Is Trump lying or is he stupid?', the answer is most likely C: All of the Above" - Seth Meyers
well on one hand snowflake trump will use it to target liberals, and of course he will, and anyone who opposes it will be labeled an "SJW"
and on the upside it will give a liberal admin to do the same thing in turn
but again im pretty sure most trumpers are making a safe bet trump will declare himself dictator so they dont worry about a liberal admin taking over and using trumps authoritarian executive orders against them. especially with putin getting a free pass to hack our elections all they want, and he fires the Director of national intelligence because he was pressuring trump to act on meddling, but then again that dosent matter because only sjws oppose russian interference
Those are both downsides. This is a pretty nasty president for private property. It’s not just free speech.
I’m starting to think all the bitching about communism by Trump, was more projecting. From farm bailouts to eminent domain on the border, to now this... Comrade Trump is doing solid Bolshevik work.

I’m starting to think this is more communism, but with the proletariat fighting oppression of the bourgeoisie. How else do you describe the proletariat donations to a billionaire? The corporate bail outs like carrier. The 15% corporate tax cut. The deregulation and the increasing deficit.
Fascist rebuilt infrastructure of Germany. Trump is redistributing wealth from bottom to up. Government deciding who is permitted to speak and who isn’t... is more a kin to this, than Germany:
Folly and fakery have always been with us... but it has never before been as dangerous as it is now, never in history have we been able to afford it less. - Isaac Asimov
Every damn thing you do in this life, you pay for. - Edith Piaf
The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. - Orwell
No amount of belief makes something a fact. - James Randi
There's a good article by Anne Applebaum essentially saying just that. Trump, Bannon, and his ilk are bascially neo-Bolsheviks. I'd link the article, but I refuse to give the Washington Post hits when they just hide everything behind a paywall.
It really comes down to wanting power, regardless of the contradictions. There's very little ideology behind it aside from just wanting more power and overthrowing institutions.

This reeks of government overreach? What about limited government and all that? Where are those folks today?
