    [Comic] Gillen's DIE.

Anyone else reading this? The second arc is starting this week and I CANNOT wait. The first arc "Fantasy Heartbreaker" was an absolute mindblower, it's like Return to Oz, but even creepier.

The basic premise is, a six kids were sucked into a DnD style game when they were young. Only five got out. Now, it's 20 years later, and they've been sucked back into the game, except this time... the stakes are even higher.

Gillen is one of my favourite current writers, and DIE has to be my favourite of his ongoing books.

Apparently, there's also a game in production, which I can't wait to test out.

I chanced upon it awhile ago and fell in love with its concept and story.

I got a chance to read Issue #6 ahead of release.

    HOLY SHIT.

This arc is looking to be even better than the first.

Out of interest, what class would you play, in DIE?

Looking at that pic it reminded me of cult classic animated film Wizards.

Yeah, great character. Also really like the concept of the Godbinder.

Wasn't a fan of the Neo... until #6!

Dictator or Fool probably. I really like the Fool's mechanic in the RPG where they can surrender their die to the DM for a miracle, but then the DM gets to flip it back on them at a time of their choosing later. But I chose fool that, despite how I might lean towards Dictator, I'm also a "consequences be damned, I'll deal with it later" kinda guy at times too.

Godbinder's really cool, but I don't think the whole negotiate under pressure aspect would fit me.

My main gripe so far, is how they ever agreed to leave in the first place, if their disagreement over treating people as if they are real prevents them from leaving now. They are heroes of unique capability now and then, and it certainly doesn't sound like they saved every last damsel in distress before leaving the first time around

Anyone that digs this sorta thing should definitely check out Erfworld.
