    10perls from pvp event.
    6perls guaranteed from follower Qs.
    an average of 8perls per day from wqs and camp Qs.

    The total your going to need for your main for boots, gloves, belt and bracers (if ur a mage skip bracers) is 880 perls. Thats roughly 5 weeks of nazjatar daily chores spending max 1 hour/day in there.

    Anecdotal casinomath: 1/6 for socket. 1/4 to 1/6 for item effects (assuming no weightings). resulting in an average of 30 gambles per slot. totaling in 600perls needed from your alt. Doable over about 4 weeks of playtime by spending 1 hour in nazjatar/day on that char aswell.

    Estimated total time played for 4 items that are bettter than anything else availible ingame is thus 28+35 = 63hours spread out over 5 weeks time.
    (this is not counting the occasional emissary wich can give 25perls aswell as any raremob that you might stumble upon. So in reality your probobly gonna be done faster and with less time spent.

    Well besides the obvious that the player base isn't 1 voice and mind. It isn't just about loot, but it sure is annoying when loot is off the table almost instantly. Do you raid or play the game at all? Do you enjoy doing content that has no rewards for you? Would you want to spend dozens of hours, potentially weeks or months working towards clears of a zone to never have the chance to get drops weeks at a time? Now I can speak for myself and say I am not driven primarily by loot, knowing that most bosses have absolutely nothing for you and your character isn't going to progress in strength at all for weeks at a time sure makes dealing with wipe nights or things like hitting Ashvane or Zaqul walls a whole hell of a lot harder.

    There is no way in hell it is 63 hours of farming to get your benthic gear sorted out. Even if you didn't use an alt and got very unlucky fishing for a socket.

    Banthic gear in itself aint a problem. Them being bis in raid is. Gear should have been for alts, not mains

    The main problem with Benthic is sockets. Sockets are what propels a bit of interesting welfare loot above a 455 Mythic Warforged piece.

    I like the idea of neat effects on items, they should have that in more places, and the ones dropping in raids should be better than ones from a crappy bit of farmable outdoor content..

    It’s not the same.

    Some players asked to be able to upgrade the pieces they got from raids. But it is still based on gear that you collect in raids.

    That is such a bullshit. If you are a mediocre mythic guild, the strong DPS gain from benthic gear is EXACTLY what you need to push through Ashvane. Imagine 10 players gaining 100 DPS per Piece (AVH) on 4 pieces. Thats 4000 Raid DPS, in that fight its literally make or break, even if you are not cutting edge.

    And yes, people who are still working on Ashvane are indeed mythic raiders. And given that she is the fair bigger roadblock than the next boss...

    P.S. Don't start with the "Just play better, then you don't need that gear", because as Method showed us: Thats always true, but then we do not need gear as a reward and form of progression ever.

    Benthic gear was a complete stupid decision for so many reasons. I agree, it should not be removed now (because I also invested way too much time into this) but it should NEVER be repeated.

    There is no guarantee that those people would even see the gain of "100 dps". Like I said cutting edge content or orange parses. If they're below that then that means there are errors in their rotation which doesn't even mean they'd benefit all that much from Benthic Gear. Just slapping it on doesn't mean you're instantly benefiting from it, it like any other piece of gear means nothing if you're massively making mistakes.

    People were complaining that they wanted a Gear Vendor and Upgradable Gear back. Badges or other currencies beyond that were instantly pointless as well, but they wanted to be able to grind it as well.

    The point still stands Blizzard gave the players what they wanted and instantly the players complained about getting what they wanted as usual.

    I get that and wasn't disagreeing with you. I was just pointing out that the gear was mainly meant for catching up to enter the current raid and grinding beyond that was purely optional.

    I love benthic gear, a total bless for alts. Im getting my alts boosted in freehold in 2 hours 110-120 (old legion alts, all classes) and in another 2 hours im 390 Ilvl ready to do lock-out farming and shit...bless.

    It's a bit more nuanced than that. It's vendor gear for a currency from world content only which gives gear that has special effects that make ilevel basically irrelevant and is superior to raid gear for raiding(but not superior to M+ gear for M+ or PvP gear for PvP, for some reason), and it can roll random sockets(which are dumb in general, but especially dumb on vendor gear). I like having vendor gear for a currency, I just think the execution is quite poor for the reasons listed before.

    It's not optional if it's significantly better than raid gear and effectively guaranteed(because you can just do more characters to get more pearls if you're unlucky)

    Not really, even without sockets benthic gear is competing with or beating baseline mythic raid gear, because the effects are too powerful, completely free in terms of stat budget and raid gear doesn't get special effects(with a few exceptions, but even then they're typically part of the stat budget and/or fairly weak, unlike benthic)
