Did blizzard scrap 8.3? [small spoiler]

now that we know that the campaign is going to end in 8.2.5 do people still think we will get a 8.3 patch/raid or will it just be 14 months of azshara and then new expac around the end of summer 2020?
there is no info about 8.3 even existing and they will probably announce new expac at blizzcon, eternal palace cinematic is simmilar to HFC cinematic where nzoth/archimonde yeets azshara/guldan into the darkness/nether where they could potentially play a bigger role in the next expac

No. They just did the same thing they did every expansion yet the players continue to fall for it like the shocked pikachu meme.

I wouldn’t be surprised if 8.3 had some really big fingers pointing to what 9.0 was going to be. If that was the case, they’d probably want to hold off on any 8.3 info until 9.0 is announced.

Nah I doubt that. We've always known that the faction conflict wasn't going to be the "peak" of this expansion, but something else. 8.3 is definitely coming.

Weird. Almost like Old Gods are shadowy, manipulative beings who incite faction conflict to weaken their enemies before revealing themselves.

Seems pretty straightforward, 8.2.5 = war campaign finale and some minor stuff like gob/worg models. 8.3 = final patch focusing more on old god stuff and leading into the next expansion. Banking hard on it taking place on the foreshadowed titan facility MOTHER references.

the expansion should've been scrapped when it was in development.

ofc we gonna get an 8.3 - just because the war campaign ends in 8.2.5 that doesnt mean bfa is over...

    1. Maybe the faction war ends with a truce because we realize we've unleashed N'zoth, then 8.3 will be us allying against N'zoth or one of his commanders to set up the next expansion with him as a boss
    2. Maybe this is the last patch and Azshara was the end boss of this expansion and then at Blizzcon they announce the next expansion will be coming out sooner than usual (as if)

I mean they gave us only two raid tiers in WoD and when that failed horribly they went back to 3 raid tiers, but maybe now they try to pass of the first 2 raids, that traditionally would have been part of the first raid tier of the expansion, as two separate raid tiers and pretend the expansion had 3 raid tiers with 3 smaller raids. Who knows. Maybe they are silent right now about it because they fear the same backlash they've gotten with WoD.

Pretty much this. Battle for Azeroth is not a faction war. It is, well, battle for Azeroth. For the survival of the world. The purpose of the faction conflict was only to spice things up a bit.

They probably should have considering the immense amount of backlash that has been received.

but then what would people have to complain about on the forums?

Having 15 months (or whatever) of Azshara would be a terrible, terrible mistake by Blizzard, there needs to be one more raid before 9.0.

They literally told you that we'd find out who the next threat we're going to have to deal with at the end of EP.

Hell they even spelled it out for you at the end of the Panel.

This would be easy if people paid attention to what developers we're telling people.

Why would anyone think this? This Blizzcon will feature a preview of the final major content patch (8.3) and the reveal of 9.0, just like the 2017 blizzcon did with showing off Argus & revealing BFA.

The next threat, yes. The next threat we deal with this current expansion?

Personally N'Zoth, the Black Empire and the Old Gods as a whole should get a separate expansion. Wipe this expansion from the face of the Earth and let's move on.

WoD was a terrible expansion. 6.3 was scrapped.

I wouldn't be surprised if 8.3 was scrapped. There just isn't time for an 8.3 if 8.2.5 isn't out already. Expansions are always ~2 years. There isn't time for a few months of 8.2.5 and a few months of 8.3 since 8.2.5 isn't even on the PTR yet and the next expac should hit shelves, not PTR, in about ten months at most. Unless BFA is somehow going to be longer than every past expansion (and we only have the 8.3 raid for like... two months), there isn't time in the development cycle for an 8.3.
    Cheerful lack of self-preservation

    Are you nuts?

We get 8.3 in like January, and it lasts until August or September again, that's still way too long. Raids should last no longer than 6 months, yet 8.3 is likely gonna last 8-10 months again, as always.

    "Not enough time" my ass.
