    Question Hunters Die Easy

    Hi

Why do hunter's die so easy.

    https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/st...#metric=deaths

You can play with the link and measure how you want. But Hunters are at the bottom of survivability.

    Are hunter's Noobs?

Nah it's just me driving up the statistic.

Starting a thread, writing Hunters right, only to mess it up at the end and write it hunter's ....

That is exactly the point of your useless thread...

    That is legitimately interesting.

We weigh the benefits of survival vs the tastiness of crayons, and most of us agree that 60% of the time, crayons win every time.

I think it has something to do with Feign Death.

Logs doesn't even show Feign Deaths and if you are on FD when the boss resets it counts in death count unless you are the one who logs.
You can check this by comparing your guild members actual Total Deaths by Killing Blow to Total Deaths by Player

Below is my guild's example for one random Za'qul progress night. I know hunters survived that boss quite often because of FD but it still shows high in death count.
You can see Killing Blows and Deaths by Player matches for other classes but for hunter it does not.
This happens for bosses you can reset easily too (Orgozoa) where it shows as death if the hunter is on Feign Death during reset, thus showing incorrect number of deaths.

Yeah Feign Death will often show up as a straight up death in logs, that is the actual reason for the statistic.

Weirdly it doesn't count as a death for everyone.

Example from my own logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...st&type=deaths

Ghosteld's Feigns always count as deaths, mine do not.

Thus he also had way lower survivability/more deaths overall, but he didn't actually die ingame: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...2&difficulty=0

Feign death is still a spell and therefore can be resisted.

Since spell penetration isn't a thing anymore and wasn't used by hunters anyway, the resist chance is pretty high.

Also lots of bugs related to followers/pets properly feigning or playing dead properly.

Hunter do die easily as they are very weak when it comes to defensive CDs. But the stat is because feign death counts as a real death in logs unless the hunter is running the logs.

As someone who plays hunter I do feel that hunters are very squishy compared to all other classes, especially in mythic raiding.
Been like that since Legion. Before Legion hunter's survivability was much better imo.

You're very bad at hunter if you think that. Spirit mend, 20% dmg reduc, immunity-turtle, super high mobility to move out of incoming damage (disengage, aspect), 10% more HP due to tenacity pet, Exhil on an effective 1.5 minute or less CD for a 30% heal (100K)... Hunters are absolutely not "squishy". It's just that all our skills that deals with damage taken is either straight HP increases, or selfhealing, outside of turtle/survival of the fittest, rather than reductions like, say, a demon hunter.

If feign death counts in the logs as a death sometimes then at the very least it needs to work as a teleport to the Shadowlands in 9.0. Feign death and stay there for 1 min without moving and you teleport like casting Moonglade portal or whatever as a druid.
