For police who kill individuals due to their own errors? No. Typically said Officer is fired, and rehired by another police department a few years later. It's very rare if they serve any jail time.

When incidents like these happen the officer is usually investigated by his own department. This is where the whole We investigated ourselves and have found there to be no wrongdoing starts. It's why there's a growing distrust towards the police in the United States, especially among minorities, because the guilty are not held liable as they're protected by their peers.

Well that's the goal. Just have to figure out how to get there.
Have better police officers, and truly hold them accountable for their actions.

The saying is " the officers actions were questionable but not criminal.".

Going to need to vastly raise the pay and barriers of entry for law enforcement.

Nope, just fire and arrest bad officers, and stop protecting them. If they don't fucking like it, thy can quit.

"If you want me to not murder people, and to be accountable for my actions, you are going to have to raise my pay."

    Fuck that.

Great, pay everyone more money, then everyone will be happier.

That's like saying we should raise the pay of a fast-food employee, so they don't spit in everyone's food.

Well, he won't be getting rehired by anyone...

No actually it's not. You get what you pay for and that includes employees.

Great, pay them less, until they can do their jobs properly. Fire them faster, arrest them faster, and stop trying to protect them.

Lowering pay has been shown to worsen performance in many professions.

Then we should raise literally everyone's pay... That way everyone performs better.

No it was in response to you saying you want better cops. You need better people for that and better people want paid more.

There is no evidence the gun was out, or that the gun was even pointed at the officer. So, why are you victim blaming? That and the officer, didn't do his fucking job and say police, just said, Hands up and shot within a second of the order. Literally no time to comply with the order.

Some have. The cop that killed Tamir Rice for playing with a BB gun in a park, was literally under investigation in another police department that he quit, when he was hired at the one he was at when he killed Tamir Rice.
