The Worgen - Goblin monk (8.2.5)

Now that they release the new Worgen - Goblin models in 8.2.5 would it not be a perfect time to release these combo’s.

Nothing would stop the Worgen monk or Goblin monk to not be ingame and it would motivate a few players to try these races out aswell.

I have a hard time thinking a race rooted in greed and another that suffers from violent tendencies can master the strict disciplinary prerequisites to be a Monk.

No. Goblin monks don't make any sense with how they're a very selfish, profit-obsessed race. But then again, they somehow got to be shamans.

Keep in mind that Shamans have to bargain with the Elements. It's actually quite logical they got those.

And then there's the questline with a goblin shaman npc going back on it and the fire elemental gets a bit...cranky.

And that stops them from using hand to hand combat why?

Yet we got void elves that have the same issues as worgen.
And Dwarfs also have greed in them like Goblins.

Their disciplines could be based on greed, gold, and titties.

    1. Racist
    2. Orcs are the most violent player race and they can be monks

Besides, you're talking about discipline? Both Goblins and Worgen can be discipline priests. Why not monks? Really, there is no lore reason at all. Forsaken priests make less sense than this. It most likely had to do with how closed-off their starting zones were.

There's no real reason why either race can't be Monks. All Blizzard has to say is that Goblin Monks are individuals who've come to reject their mainstream culture of greed. Worgen can just be seeking further peace from their curse. IIRC, it has something to do with amount of people playing these races or something.

while i agree with goblins not being monks, worgen would actually make complete sense. for the same reason i think a void elf monk makes sense.

mastering yourself and achieving serenity through monk teachings goes a long way towards helping with the inherent problems the worgen face with rage.

Because gameplay-wise, it would be impractical to restrict specs based on race. Lorewise, there are no Lightforged Shadowpriests or Ren'dorei Holy Priests. Class availability is partially based on lore. Specs are not. If you have the class, you can use all specs, even when it doesn't make any sense.

Lol @ people who think goblins shouldnt be monks because of lore. You realise undead and void elfs can be monks right? Monks entire philosophy is about inclusivness and being a path for anyone who wants to follow it.

The only reason goblins and worgen cant be monks is because of their starting areas that are stuck in the past, which would require blizz to put a bit more effort into making these class/race combos available than just flipping a switch like with gnome hunters.

A goblin monk isn’t as outlandish as say a Ferengi enlisted in Starfleet

They master the discipline of balance...

They have to balance, their credit, debit and active!

Note: For Worgen, IMHO, it makes a lot of sense, as they are a race that are constantly trying to control themselves, their mind and body, they look for balance between the man and the beast

Could they not just put Chen Stormstout in the starting zone teaching them since he was traveling the world before MoP. And guess you had other pandaren wanderers aswell.

Apart from the entire starter zones and the fact having a random Monk trainer makes zero sense. The Monk class is primarily from The Wandering Isle and Pandaria, both of which ventured out (in terms of the Monk class) after Cata i.e. those starting areas.

    That's a surprisingly sound argument.

I always thought it had something to do with their skeletons/models making them unable to be monks, but you can turn into a worgen/goblin through toys and they work just fine. Blizzard is just being lazy here.
"May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce"

"May the Goddess smile upon you."

"Hero", is what they've all been saying. This world, it isn't worth the saving."

They could, but that's effort. They would also need to make goblin/worgen monks to learn zen pilgrimage after they complete their starting zones, so that's even more work for something most players dont give crap about.

Goblins have never really been depicted as the monk kind of spirit. They have always been pictured as weak in the hand to hand company, and they tend to have a higher preference for distance.

Goblin Shamans has to bargain, bribe or blackmail for their elemental connections.
Goblin Priests are basically just someone who took the job for the easier moolah.
