my 'dad' came from ireland orignally but lived most of his life in england. However he wasn't my biological father. I dunno who that was since the donor's details held in documents in london from some 40 years ago, so don't know anything about the man.

The US. Going back thru my family history far enough, they came here from England and Scotland. Might have some Scandinavian blood in my genes, having fair skin and blue eyes, hair was white until I reached the age of about 12. Then it turned blonde.

Southeastern US. Both sides have lived in this same general area for a long time. My parents have a box of old family history stuff (notes, photos, various other memorabilia), and we have some really old black and white pictures of people standing around in front of log cabins in the woods, Hatfields & McCoys style, holding shotguns and everything.
A buddy of mine looked up my family history (Dad's side) on one of those genealogy sites, and he apparently got as far back as some couple that lived and died in Scotland in the 1600's.
