Metzen isn't in charge anymore. And when have retcons ever stopped Blizzard?
And it isn't even a retcon if Ner'zhul's fate is left up to interpretation in the actual lore, aside from Metzen's words.
Oh and to counter Metzen's point, Ner'zhul did return in Warlords of Draenor so he wasn't even correct on that quote. It's just stating their viewpoint at the time, and we all know times change. If they want Ner'zhul to return then it's very easy.
Maybe the pic is taken while he's charging up some kind of attack that makes him turn full blue for the attack and it's just taken when it charges past his eyes.
This too you guys
You know how the store mounts of past has hinted at the next expansion?
An'u belore delen'na
Yes it does. During a quest the Lich King smells shaman magic from the player and states "I was once a shaman", implying that is Ner'zhul the one who's speaking and not Arthas. Also, Bolvar's spirit says that "Arthas is merely a presence within the Lich King's mind. A dwindling presence...", meaning he's not the dominating mind.
Also, I shouldn't put Metzen as a reliable source: he's the guy who forgot about eredars corrupting Sargeras and not the other way, or forgot about Falstad Wildhammer being alive AND in the game.
If we get Shadowlands I hope that would bring the Auchenai back to the draenei. I mean, what other Alliance race would they use as a connection to the Shadowlands? Horde has both trolls and undead, Alliance only has draenei via Auchenai.
Yeah and they can go back on what he said, but not without retconning the way it was. Ner'zhul is dead. Period.

Whoever made that quest clearly wasn't aware of the book and just thought it would be cool to let him talk about Ner'zhul's past. Probably because it was released half a year after Wrath launched. It doesn't change that Ner'zhul is finished.
So first you get told about shadowfall from a Dev
Then your friend working security turns out to be a ninja comp specialist
Then since the pic was called out for weird shit like the text "placeholder duh"
Now you use a Twitter leak from WA

Kul tiran because of drust
All these fools buying into these trolls are the entire reason that why "leaks" will always be a thing... and this one is even so shitty, especially that text "Enter the glorious land of bastion! Meet the noble kyrian! Discover new abilities!".... like srsly, this sounds like some chinese guy was bored af and then came up with it.
btw. OP can't wait for your reaction when the expac has an entirely different title xD
I just want to know why they would call them mystery items then clearly say what they are right beneath. That with the eyes means I can't believe it. Though it is interesting and at least the best of them. Just doesn't have a thrill to it but maybe that's because I've been hammered by Shadowlands stuff from the forums here lol.

You know a community is bad when moderators lock a thread because "...this isnt the place to talk about it either seeing as it will get trolled..."
i have an uncle whos best friends cousins brother works as a security guard at blizzcon and he told me all leaks are 100% true and they will be releasing 10 expansions all at once
And the Bolvar phrase happened after the novel was written. And also did Arthas' death scene, which was not the type of demise of someone who is in charge, but someone who was trapped.
AFAIK, if the game and another source contradict, the game should be the definitive source of lore. Which means Ner'zhul is not gone.
