I would wait until next year when Intel releases their GPU, and Nvidia will likely release a better RTX line up. Pretty sure even AMD is going to release Ray-Tracing capable graphic cards next year as well. Since the PS5 and Xbox... Two are going to have Ray-Tracing capabilities then your next PC should have a RTX card or equivalent to handle the next generation of games. Wait until August of 2020, which is when we'll see all the new cool stuff come out. What is your current PC anyway?

Current pc specs are the following:

Case - Cooler Master Elite 430
    CPU - Intel Core i3-4130
CPU cooler - No idea honestly
    GPU - Nvidia Gforce 750-Ti
    SSD - Samsung 860 evo 1TB (I'm keeping this, obviously :P)
    RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 2400 C11 2x8GBB (recently upgraded)
    MBD - Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H
    PSU - Corsair CX500

It works all right for wow to be quite fair, and for other games I play as well. It's not that terrible, just would like to get an upgrade
It's a shame that Shadowlands killed PvE twinking. Still I enjoy the game.

I’ll also say to build rather than buy. Far better bang for your buck. Prebuilt systems are always overpriced and often with substandard parts.

And I’d use the 1TB as a secondary drive and upgrade to an NVME for your boot drive. Prices are cheap these days.

Building seems intimidating, though. Thd ibuypower pcs seemed pretty good price/quality wise to me?

I could still go with build it myself, and see how I do. I guess that way I can build it entirely to my liking as well, just the intimidation factor of potentially messing it up :P

It's been a thing for many years. While it's great to check incompatibilities and have a list of parts, the price comparison is shit, as most countries only have Amazon and the others just a couple more because PCPP only includes sites with affiliate programs.
I suggest looking at other sites for the best prices (i.e. Geizhals for Germany or Pagomeno in Italy). Since those sites gather data from much more sites, you can view historic prices and wait for a site with a competitive price to restock.

    1) Never buy prebuild unless you have to, i.e. you need a PC right now, don't know how to build one and don't have time to wait for someone to build for you.
    2) There is always stuff coming, and most of the time there is no point waiting for it more than 3 months, there are exceptions however, but those are mostly for people who know exactly what they're looking for. Unless there is specific stuff just released (and not yet available to you) or announced with imminent availability just figure out what your requirements are and build from existing stock.
    3) Black Friday discounts could be very good, however you need to figure out before they start what you're looking for. There is no point buying shit parts just because they're cheaper.

Been looking into building it myself after all. Here's what my build is so far:

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3700X
CPU Cooler: be quiet! BK009 Pure Rock
MBD: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16
    Storage: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB
GPU: MSI Gaming Radeon Rx 5700
Case: AeroCool Cylon RGB Mid Tower
    PSU: Corsair VS650

    What's this say?

    1) I wouldnt buy a single section AIO unless it's an ITX build. Just get a decent air cooler: you will be safe from permeation/pump failures and it's probably gonna be cheaper.
    2) This specific motherboard choice only makes sense if you specifically need WiFi6 and dont want to deal with an expansion card, otherwise this board is very overpriced for the feature set is has. Basically unless you're planning to upgrade to a high end next gen GPU within a year or a PCIe 4 SSD X570 chipset doesnt make any sense. PCIe 4 support is the only feature that makes it a sensible choice for an average user.
    3) Never cheap out on a PSU. This one is trash.

It's stupidly easy. Done it alone at 14 years old with a youtube tutorial.
And with the now infamous The Verge tutorial, there are hundreds of recent video with how to do it right.

If you can build a child's lego, you can build a PC.

And if you're still reaaaaaally scared. Just give 50$ to a high school nerd.

    1) Might run with the previous suggestion then; "be quiet! BK009 Pure Rock". Is that a better option?

    2) Changing to "MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus"

    3) Ending up with Corsair VS650 for things that I can get my hands on easily. If I need better, I'll look more but it would include shipping costs probably.

Edit; can also find Corsair CX650

    1) No. I would advice on some decent 120mm cooler. Deepcool Gammaxx 400 or GT would be a nice choice if you can find it, Enermax has some, Cryorig H7/Silverstone AR07 is good if you can find them cheap (not $50). Scythe has some good ones but they're really hard to find. Basically availability really depends on where you're ordering from.

EDIT: I forgot that you want a 3700X. You should be good with a stock cooler tbh, especially if you change your case to something a little bit more breathable. If you're going to OC definitely change the case and go with a 140mm fan cooler.

    2) I would go with ASUS X570 TUF if you can get it - should be the same price as MSI but much better board, also has a Wifi version if you need it. And that's if you insist on X570, you can get B450 Tomahawk (MAX) or Pro Carbon for 110-120, and that's probably an overkill for you.
    3) Overpriced tbh, but would do. Should be much better choices around with better price/quality ratio but depends again on where you're ordering. CX650 is good, I would advice you look for a Seasonic Focus G 650, if it's around $10 more than CX650 go with it.

    1) Stock cooler it is, then. It's a "Wraith Prism LED Cooler" from where I can see.
I will definitely use case fans as well, should help a little bit as well.

    2) ASUS it is. I was always under the impression that MSI took the lead, so I defaulted to MSI for that price.

    3) It's all I can get within a decent time range to be fair, but if it will do, then that's fair enough. I've saved enough on other parts, but I'm probably missing a lot of small things I'm not thinking of yet.

That was the case for B450/X470, for X570 it's all over the place depending on price range.

I'd suggest going with the Asus x570 TUF or Aorus elite if you insist on getting an x570, they're the two best bets you have. If you don't need PCIe gen 4, then go B450 Tomahawk MAX

Managed to get my hands on a Seasonic Focus GX-650, so that's a positive because now I can connect a 4-pin atx connector (according to pcpartspicker, the corsair cx650 couldn't.)

Anyway; I.. ended up with about 500 under budget now. So that leaves me wondering, is there anything you'd improve or advice upon? Let's say I'll leave 300-ish open and then 200-ish for things I'm probably forgetting like certain cables or paste or whatever :P

(This includes getting samsung 970 evo 500gb NVME that I got now)

edit: I already have two good monitors. I'd like a new keyboard and looking into those, but I have a working pretty decent one already. Mouse is good, so is headset.
The internals of the PC go first :P

    In order of importance:
    - Better case, don't go too far, you can get a very good one that will last you multiple builds for $70-100. H510 or Deepcool Matrexx 70 if you want that TG panel.
    - Two drive setup: 250-500Gb main SSD (sata/nvme) + 1tb hdd/sata ssd.
    - GPU upgrade.

For 1080p? Nah, that's more than fine. You could slap more powerful stuff in there, but you'd just be wasting performance. If you can upgrade to 3600mhz RAM for cheap that'd probably be worthwhile. Aside from what? Maybe more storage, but that depends on what you do with it. Another case maybe?

Whenever you upgrade Windows (OS) on computer, backup is important, you need to know something about unexpected problems. If you fail, how do you deal with it.
