The guy behind white house immigration policy..

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...sm/2582150001/

Clearly they just want strong borders, and people to come here legally, clearly there is no reason to believe that the administration thinks otherwise, unless you read these leaked emails.

"Miller flagged “The Camp of the Saints,” a book popular among white nationalists and neo-Nazis, to the conservative website on Sept. 6, 2015, when he was an aide to then-Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama.

“The Camp of the Saints” by Jean Raspail first came out in France in 1973, and the novel gradually gained popularity among extremists for its fictionalization of the “great replacement” or “white genocide” myth.

"The report says Miller directed McHugh to “draw information” from articles published in "American Renaissance," a white supremacist online publication, about crimes committed by minorities and immigrants."

"Miller’s name appeared in "American Renaissance" as an author in 2005, "

oh and so were clear this is what american renaissance is https://i.gyazo.com/5f86637d6be41a2e...caed2b572d.png

just a few so much more! this administration truly has no low point

and also so were clear, trump appointed this man because trump shares 100% of his opinions, but in a few days you might hear " never met this guy never heard of him"

Demonizing the 3% of the US population that is made up of illegal immigrants has become ~90% of the Republican's platform.

Of course Trump's going to be interested in a guy that can sell people a fear of immigrants. You see it on this very board; people swearing up and down that illegal immigrants are predominantly violent criminals (when there's not a single statistical correlation between an increase in illegal immigrants in an area vis-a-vis an increase in violent crime.) Then you have people that swear that "America is a culture, and immigrants are simply not compatible with that culture and will replace it." And when talking about making legal immigration easier, it's always a matter of "The US is full!" or "They'll take all of the jobs!" or "The US, the richest country in the world, could never support more people!" Because the con men have sold them the fear, hook, line, and sinker.

What do you think they should be focusing on? Governing? That's way too hard. Shouting "BUILD THE WALL!" takes a lot less effort and a lot fewer brain cells.

People have been rightfully saying he's a racist, white nationalist piece of shit since before Trump even got elected.

His supporters still don't care. Hell, it's exactly the type of person they want.

Indeed. Can only have the best racists and bigots in the cabinet. Anything less is unacceptable for this administration.

Have conservatives had any novel ideas in the past 50 years that didn't involve either banning immigration or abortion? Struggling to think of a time they've thought outside of the box.

And yet, you are still voting for Trump. So, it would appear that you are criticizing yourself.

People are policy. An administration is who they hire.

This shouldn't surprise anyone who has a cursory knowledge of US conservatism, especially since Goldwater. You cannot divorce white supremacy and scapegoating of immigrants from US conservatism, its hatred of them is the genesis for the creation of its ideology prior to the American Revolution.

I honestly wish you were wrong. Sadly, as someone who is a conservative, it's exactly why I know it to be true. It's why I left the GOP in 2003, and it's why I'm constantly battling against all these people who claim to be conservatives. Actual conservatism, especially fiscal conservatism is almost dead in this country. It has been replaced by nationalism, racism, and authoritarianism. The modern GOP is comprised of little more than national socialists.

The Southern conservatives have always been racist. More particularly than American conservatism being racist. FDR had the same issue, and a reason he couldn't help the black community more (and why share croppers probably weren't included in the farm bill of the new deal) was that he'd lose the entire southern bit of the Democratic Party.
In a sense the Southern Strategy removed a huge ball and chain from the Northern Democrats legs.
