That's been the general consensus for at least the past 2 years now. There have been a bunch of plot leaks that ended up being validated either through the toys or descriptions from the novel/comics (things about the Hollow Earth, Kong using an weapon w/ Godzilla's dorsal plates as a weapon, names of new Titans) and one of the leaks that keep popping up is the appearance of MechaGodzilla.

This came out early last year before all of the toys actually went on sale. All of the toys, minus the MechaGodzilla have been out for purchase.


As much as I don't want MechaGodzilla as the "surprise motha fucka!" antagonist, I guess it makes sense if 'Godzilla vs Kong' is intended to be the last film of the MonterVerse.

If it goes by the original, it will be an ambiguous ending with implications that Kong wins but not actually revealing it.
The real upset would be if film makers just did what they should and pick a side regardless of who would be upset. Hell, get the comedy group behind Death Battle to weigh them against each other and pick who wins and go all in while making an epic showdown between the 2 before the ultimate outcome.

Wondering if Godzilla causing unprovoked destruction is similar to the 1974 film where it's Mechagodzilla in disguise. Hopefully not sent by monkey space aliens... that'd be a bit too silly.

I thought it was Mechagodzilla, but slowing the video down was blurry and didn't help. Probably just regular Godzilla?

You could be right. I wanted Ghidorah to come back in some way shape or form but MechaGodzilla seems fine.
