Eh, i get a scratch-it advent calendar every year, and so far i haven't had one that didnt at least have 15usd on it (costs 7,5)

My dad used to let me do some of the scratch off lottery tickets he would buy when I was a little kid... He won a couple thousand dollars on one of the ones I did once, which was pretty exciting for me and our family in general at the time.

I, personally, have never bought lottery tickets of any variety and see it as a complete waste of money.

More seriously, I've won a couple bucks here and there. Before I was born my dad bought a ticket and won $10k, which he used as a down payment on the house I grew up in.

I recall never playing before and was always encouraged for the sake of "beginner's luck." I figure a couple of buck here and there...and I always hit for 30$-32$ here and there one month. I was thinking that if this continued I'd have to be paying taxes.
A friend told me no one does that. He said people have been playing for years and not once hit. So...he talked me into the "big game" here. And it didn't take long. Hit for 2nd place that garnered around $74k...it was nice. (Had to split it up since it was group thing, but it was "found" money and I paid off my truck)

Most I got was €2k from the lottery. Don't do it much, typically once a blue moon when the pot is €120+m with the Plus. (Two separate rolls, one for pot another for €500k).
