    What's next after impeachment?

    https://www.foxnews.com/media/hannit...ump-is-removed

Last night, Mitch McConnell came out and said "The case is so darn weak coming over from the House. We all know how it's going to end. There is no chance the president is going to be removed from office." What’s next for the democrats when impeachment fails in the senate? Will they stop trying to find ways to impede and obstruct this administration, or will they move on to some new accusation to yodel until November 2020? Do the house democrats have any legislation they will be focusing on for the coming year? With the news cycle being completely dominated by Russian collusion / Ukranian Quid pro Quo since the President took office, the public doesn’t really have any idea what Congress has actually been working on, and if anything will come from this congress before the next election.

This 116th Congress is on target to surpass the Republican 115th for the amount of business conducted by January. The Democrat majority will have done more in one year than Republicans did in two. They're averaging something like 28 actions per day, compared to the 115th's 17.

Ask McConnell. He has over 100 bills sitting on his desk waiting to get voted on that passed the House. He's literally in the way of potential progress.

The problem is that none of it is being covered by the media. I'm curious what the actual plans are for the upcoming year. Will this whole collusion / impeachment / orange-man-bad culture in the media die off, or are they going to find another dead horse to beat?

After impeachment he will not be removed, and the Senate will move extremely fast as to not muddy the waters during campaigning.

Priority number one for any american that gives a shit about the constitution or the country is go out and vote.

Don't look at polls, don't listen to your local news. Get caught up on your state and federal candidates and vote.

Oh, get fucked. If the only reason the bad orange man won't be removed from office is because his flunkies who control a different branch of government refuse to act on the clear evidence of his (and his administration's) malfeasance, there's no reason for anyone to think differently of him. Anyone who isn't dogmatically bound to believing he can do no wrong, that is.

And anyone who enabled this needs to be investigated and jailed when a new administration takes over in 2021. These traitors cannot be allowed to regroup and try again.

Investigated and jailed for what? Having political beliefs that don't align with yours? This practice is relatively common in third world countries. God help us.

Obstruction of justice and any other crimes that are found during the investigation.

It isn’t screwed for the reasons you think

Wanting ignore the crimes and actions of a man because he happens to be president and with an R is PRECISELY what the founders were against.

The very fact that the senate majority is coordinating with the executive branch is explicitly what the founders absolutely did not want. So what Do you have to say about this blatant disregard for the founders and the constitution?

Given that Impeachment will likely stall and/or fail in the Senate, and either way the chances of him getting forcibly removed from office are slim, expect there to be no change in the current order of business. Trump will continue to lie at a near-constant state, his followers will either deny it or hand-wave it away, and the Democrats will continue to bicker way too much about way too many candidates, and we continue to backslide as a nation.

Your President opened the door to this.

Enjoy whats coming to your side. Because when the music stops - and it will - how do you thinks this ends for you people?

That the corruption of the Trump Crime Family goes unpunished by the next Democratic White House? That every obstructive act of William Barr isn't reversed and a torrent of documents aren't released to Congress and the public? That the conflicts of interest aren't redressed?

This has been the ongoing point for like, three years now. Your side's White House has been operating like they are going to be the last White House ever. Like it's a firesale, and everything must go, and there will be no rebound when its the other side's turn to have the ball. That nobody will ever have to answer for anything.

Take for example Donald Trump. Mueller clearly wanted to charge him with Obstruction of Justice but couldn't because of DoJ regulations, When Donald Trump is no longer President, whenever that may be, there is a very good chance he will face charges. And "Individual-1" is already an unindicted co-conspirator in New York. And that is just Trump. He has a phalanx of grifters around him, who have committed their own misdeeds.

Your side needed to be on its best behavior. Instead, everyone pretty much acted true to form and engaged in unprecedented corruption. So how do you think this ends? That they get away. A lot of people are going to go to jail, and you're going to watch it happen, fully aware that your side made their malfeasance okay.

When the next democratic Attorney General comes up for vote in the Senate, they will be asked if they intend to pursue Trump-era figures. They will not answer, but every Democratic candidate already has pledged to do so. And if this set fails, then the next set will as well. So there is no happy ending for you.

But that is what your acceptance of, well, the evil acts of evil men, plainly deserves.

Yeah, I don't think fucking McConnel gets to complain about that.

To paraphrase Lincoln: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand."
Except the "you people" here are supporting subversion of the constitution and blatant illegal actions.
