Anyone else main swap each expansion?

I have a tendency to swap my main per expansion. Anyone else do it? Here's my record so far:

Vanilla: N/A (played but not going to pretend I had a main)
TBC: Hunter (PvP only)
WOTLK: Paladin
Cataclysm: Shaman
MoP: Death Knight
WoD: N/A
Legion : N/A
BFA: Priest

I'm currently all in on classic (Shaman) but will play the new Xpac.

I'm thinking of going full meme-tier with my 9.0 character. Either a Female Pandaran Warrior or Vulperan Warlock. But I do miss my DK and Paladin.

Vanilla: Warrior (Ran around not knowing what the hell I was doing. Made it to around level 25-30.)
TBC: Rogue (Got to 40 and bought my first mount. Yay.)
Wrath: DK (My first max level toon was a hero class. Embarrassing. Did some PUG raids. Never raided ICC.)
Cata: Hunter (Mostly roleplayed.)
MoP: Mage (PUG raiding.)
WoD: Mage & Warrior (Mostly running around my garrison and doing some PvP.)
Legion: All Classes (Mostly did everything.)

I haven't played retail since Legion -- I now exclusively play Classic. However, I preferred never to main swap. Whenever I do main swap, its because of class changes that make the play-style/rotation of the class no longer fun for me.

Over the years I've mained a Shaman, Priest, and Paladin -- always prefer to be a Paladin. Paladin since Legion has been horrible (IMO). I just logged on to retail the other day to see if the class got any better as I haven't played since early Legion... nope. Pure cringe for me. I liked the WOD version of pallies -- was so fun!

Me too,
I mained Surv in WoD, MW during legion and right now I'm a resto druid.
Considering whether to stick to druid, or go disc or resto shammy. Unless of course, a new healing class comes out in which case that will likely be my main of the expansion, unless it proves boring.

Not every expansion, no.

I've changed mains 3 times in total so far.

I started out in late TBC playing a Rogue, got to 68 and that's when Wrath came out. Rerolled to Death Knight. Did some Naxxramas pugs, then still in Wrath I rerolled to Mage and got into raiding beginning with Trial of the Crusader, actually killed all Icc Heroic bosses except the Lich King.

Kept playing the mage until Mists of Pandaria when I rerolled to my Warlock and I've been playing that character ever since.

I used to play warlock and shadow priest through all expansions but at some point realized that the convenience of a druid outweighs any class fantasy by a million. Stealth,shifting out of stuff,sonic speed,bear form,hots,instant flight form and resto always being G in pvp.

Going from Legion Warlock to BFA warlock, was probably one of the biggest kicks in the dick I've ever experience in a game. Going from a strong ST and AoE class to medicore ST and worst AoE in the game, was such a shock. No idea if I can stick with Warlock come next expac if things don't change. Warrior changes aren't much better either.

Yeah, it happens. I've had numerous max level alts since wrath, so I have tons of play time on other classes not mentioned here, but my "mains" were:

Early TBC to Ulduar - Hunter
Ulduar to ToT - Mage
SoO to Legion pre-patch - Hunter
Legion pre-patch to BFA pre-patch - Monk

I went into BFA with mage, quit about a week after Uldir launched. Came back for 3 weeks in 8.2 and played my DH.

Well, it looked something like that for me:

I started in Wrath as a Mage and stayed a Mage in Cataclysm. Did some raiding in both expansions. After that, in MoP, I was playing a MW monk and swapped to a Discipline Priest after finally finding friends to play with. This held up until the end of WoD.

Since Legion I am alone and this went something like "Oh, the char got legendary cloth boots as first lego, guess they are useless now", and quit. Played and geared my shaman casually after that, which I dropped going into BfA and finally deciding once and for perhaps all, that I am a Druid at heart.

I just love all roles and having a special place for healers, restoration druid just always spoke to me, more than any other healing spec. I'd say Druid is my class.

No, BM Hunter since late BC. Occasionally play Survival, but BM primarily.

Having said that, anytime I change a character's race they get a rewrite on their story. For example, in Legion, my Priest was Paumae, a Sunwalker who enjoyed the darker arts more than she should. She regrettably died in the Battle for Daz'Alor. So now, all my Priestly and ventures follow Bearu, a Zandalari Priest fiercely dedicated to Bwonsamdi.

It's a good way to keep your characters fresh without having to abandon them.
