Who would be the leader of the High Elves Allied Race?

Inevitability, they will be an allied race but there's a thread on the High Elf discussion. Let's talk about their leader and who might it be and why they would reintroduce the entire exiles into the Alliance?

    • Survival.
    • To regrow population.
    • Military strength.
    • Magic Knowledge.

    Let's look at some candidates
    • Alleria
    • Veressa
    • Arator the Redeemer
    • Auric Sunchaser
    • A surviving Sunstrider (Prince Nallorath)

    Alleria Windrunner:
    Pros:
    High Elf
    Notable Windrunner
    Captain of the Farstriders
Already good in with the Alliance

    Cons:
    Leads an Allied race already
    Technically a Void Elf.
    Disliked by the community

    Vereesa:
    Pros:
    High Elf
    Leads the Silver Covenant
    Notable Windrunner
Large role in WOTLK and MoP
    Little character development of recent

    Cons:
    Disliked by the community
    Lackluster character

    Arator Windrunner
    Pros:
    Half Elf
    Son of Alleria and Turalyon
    Notable character in WoW
Room for character development and to do something big

    Cons:
    Lackluster character
    Half Human

    Auric:
    Pros:
    High Elf
    LT of Alleria
    Nostalgia figure of BC
    Room for character development

    Cons:
    Little known about him

    A surviving Sunstrider:
    Pros:
    High Elf
Can bring peace between all Elf races
    Monarchy
We haven't had a Sunstrider character in game since BC and Legion, one setback is returning in Shadowlands.

    Cons:
Would be an ass-pull character if new.
Would have to have a large story dedicated to them like Thalyssra to have characters engaged and immersed.
    Will overshine all elf leaders.

Who'd you want to lead them?

I'd say Vereesa or Auric. Alleria has her own people now.
The most difficult thing to do is accept that there is nothing wrong with things you don't like and accept that people can like things you don't.

    No they won't.

Why would it be anyone other than Lorthemar?

I was highly tempted to add Sylvanas.

Alleria. I could see her trying to claim the throne of Quel'thalas, possibly due to the nefarious influence of the Void, and gather a faction of Thalassians loyal to her. The Quel'dorei (Silver Covenant and Highvale) would be part of such faction and support Alleria in her bid to claim the throne.

Such a storyline is already foreshadowed in the Three Sisters comic, where the Void Lords tell Alleria to claim the throne of Silvermoon, which belogns to her by right.

Her only right would be by conquest. Windrunner wasn't a royal house of Quel'thalas... Being famous, a war hero, etc doesn't mean you're in the ruling line. What do you think Quel'thalas is? Orgrimmar?

That is called manipulation on a weakened mind. That could go with something like that:" What did they do to earn that throne? You did save a world, they did not etc...."

maybe they mean not literally the throne in the comics but rather the position in quel'thalas as a leader like what lor'themar serves. she'd be regent lord and ranger general

Vereesa, of course. Alleria should be leader of the Void Elves, being one herself, even though she doesn't look like one.

Arator should be leader of Half-Elves if they ever become playable. Is Arator's last name Windrunner? Wouldn't he have Turalyon's last name?

Keep that in the high elf megathread, it was created for this specific reason.

Option 6: Nobody, because it wont happen.

    *snip*

Who'd you want to lead them?
Nobody, because they aren't going to be an allied race.

I don't think Theron ever held the position of Ranger-General. He did assume command in the brief period between Sylvanas' death and securing Quel'thalas, but was appointed Regent Lord when Kael appointed Halduron Brightwing as Ranger-General.

Still it's pretty silly to argue Alleria has any right or claim to the throne... EXCEPT by right of conquest if she ever did succeed at it.

Obv, that is what the Void Lords implied. Divide and conquer are their prefered methods.

Baine, clearly he's the perfect choice.

There is like one more pair of allied race, before the gimmick dies out, and you believe they'll add another blood elf reskin?

That's not the phrasing the post I originally responded to implied.

And this logic seems to imply more details than stated.

If he's smart he'll keep the name Windrunner, which has still a lot of importance in Quel'thalas.
