Okay it's gone, what are some retail or business's you miss?

This probably means nothing if you are 30 under, but for others what are some business's or chain stores.

What are some retail or business's you miss?

It can be a regional chain or local store too.

I am going to say Zippy's Pizza, I am betting real money nobody has ever heard of them here, but they used to be nearly as big in Minnesota, or at least Minneapolis as Domino's or Pizza Hut.

... When I consider it... None?

All the things I want, are online. All the major food-chains and supermarkets and furniture warehouses etc, are still around in physical stores.
I do miss my old barber, but he retired... T.T

CompUSA and Circuit City, for no particular reason other than they're electronic goods stores from my childhood.

Lucky's supermarket, Alphabeta supermarket, a lot of places are gone now.

I actually miss going into music stores like Sam Goody and the Wall.

    Discovery Zone.

Kind of like Chuck E Cheese but with giant playsets instead of games.

Everyone had their birthday there. I'm willing to believe our parents would drop us off, go do Christmas shopping, and them come back to pick us up later. You wouldn't notice though because you were too busy running around.

Even if it didn't go bankrupt I don't think it would have survived.

At any moment you could get runover, stepped on kicked, etc. You just brushed yourself off and kept playing.

Kids would try to climb up enclosed slides while others were going down. Ours had a ball pit that was 3 or so feet. You could almost "swim" in it. And it was a warzone. People had to fight (with the balls) and crawl their way out.

I doubt kids these days would even have the stamina to reach to top of some of the playsets/mazes.

Luckys is still a thing unless another chain popped up with the same name.

How about that. Some kind of corporate machinations involved but they're still there!

OMFG Yep I remember woolworth Hahaha, it was kind of an upscale mid level department store, I think like Macy's but more middle class, the one in DownTown Minneapolis had a sit down dinner in it.

Didn't realize until later how global they were, nice pick.

Honestly I miss the horny oil painter business for romance novel covers. Photoshop just isn't the same.

The old NYC automats. I ate in them a few times as a kid.

With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.

This image is of Woolworths is from the late 90's at my local shopping centre. I used to get all my CD's and Pick'n'Mix from there too. I remember all the toys and actions figures I got there as a kid too. Still very sad it makes me that it isnt around, no store hasnt managed to fill that void for me in the UK

Toys R Us pretty much just for my kids.

Was always nice taking the little shits to Toys R us and let em run around picking out a toy. I mean, we can still do it in Walmart in their Toy isles. And well this will only last once they get older. But, only store I can really think of.

    Malls in general.

Everything is online now. Excuses to never leave the safety and comfort of our own homes. In fear of harm, or discomfort.

    We have damned ourselves.
