So... Cases are stabilizing and deaths are slightly lower than yesterday?

Deaths are almost the same (889 vs 912) and the the case rate is slightly lower than yesterday, but I don't think there's any way you can make a claim about "stabilizing" without seeing a trend of at least 4-5 days. In either case, a stabilized rate obviously does not mean a stop to new infections, it just likely means all the physical distancing efforts have fully kicked in. There's always a delay in seeing those numbers kick in after the measures are taken.

What I'm worried about is how many politicians are going to see a slight, temporary flattening of the curve and assume that it means that they're nearing their peak, rather than taking it for what it more likely is: a delayed reaction to distancing measures having a correlative effect on said curve while still on the way up.

Or maybe we'll be all done by Easter, who knows.

There needs to be an all-state lock down to clear the country, or at least most of it of the virus.

The restrictions can then be gradually eased and contact tracing and localized quarantines implemented for any new flare ups.

From the data from the last week there's been a fairly obvious leveling off of the infection rate. So the R0 is now about 1. Each infected person is now infecting about 1 new person which is good, at least compared to how it was. But they need to really start driving it down below that so new infections start to fall.

Nope he is only considering aid to states and governors that are "nice to him", he also managed to find away to enrich himself and the cronies in his government through the stimulus bill.

Michigan is an important swing state so if it gets bad there and he is able to pin the blame for it on their governor, that will help him get reelected in November.

Now only a sociopath would do something like that.
